‘Pop Idol’ season one runner-up Gareth Gates checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace on Monday (January 14) after his premiere on ‘Dancing On Ice’ over the weekend. He writes:

Hi everyone

Firstly let me start with a huuuuuuge thank you to everybody that voted for me on last night’s Dancing On Ice. I was so nervous but I actually thought it went really well. What did you think of the outfit?

Obviously I am pleased that the first one is out of the way, and now I can’t wait to get stuck in – I love it! I’ve started training for the next routine already and it’s going to be fantastic.

Thanks again for getting behind me – the messages and good luck cards have been brilliant and really make me want to get out there again.

‘Pop Idol’ season one runner-up Gareth Gates checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace on Friday (January 11), ahead of his debut on the ITV1 reality competition ‘Dancing on Ice’. Gareth writes:

Hi everybody,

Well here we are… the first performance is on Sunday and I am really nervous and excited at the same time if that makes sense? The closer it gets, the more nervous I feel thinking about it but I have put in so much hard work over the last few weeks that I feel excited to get out there and show you all just what I can do. Aaargggh! I’ve got butterflies in my tummy : )

Thank you all so much for the support so far and don’t forget to vote for me after the performance. For all those that don’t know yet, ‘Dancing On Ice’ starts on Sunday at 5.50pm on ITV1.

I would also like to say a big thank you to everyone for your wonderful messages and beautiful flowers, following the announcement of my engagement to my now fiance Suzanne. We both really appreciate all your good wishes. Anyway – time to get back to rehearsals… keep everything crossed for Sunday!
