Girls Aloud Tour Manager Dies In Car Crash

The Sun reports were devastated last night after learning their tour manager, John McMahon, was killed in a Christmas Day car crash. Their ‘Popstars: The Rivals’ manager Louis Walsh said, “I only found out two hours ago and I am very sad. I only knew John through his work with but I really liked him. He was a lovely bloke and very professional. We wanted to work on other projects together. The girls all liked him. I’ve just got off the phone to Nadine. Girls Beat The Boys But Reality Pop Starts To Fizzle

While the girls beat the boys in first week sales on Popstars: The Rivals, the total sales were a big drop off and many wonder if the reality pop star genre has gone bust in the UK. sold 213,000 copies of ‘Sound Of The Underground’ since last Monday, while ’s single Sacred Trust shifted just 147,000. Hear’Say sold 550,000 copies of Pure And Simple in March 2001, while and Gareth Gates sold 1.1 million and 860,000 copies of their albums respectively.

We’re No Fakes Insist Girls Aloud

Popstars: The Rivals girl group have spoken to News of the World after the firestorm of controversy that has both bands and their bosses going at each other’s throats. Pete Waterman, boss of the boy band counterparts had alleged the Girls Aloud single ‘Sounds Of The Underground’ had actually been performed by session singers. Sarah said, “To spread rumours that we didn’t sing on the record is ludicrous. Just listen to them and you can hear all of us belting out the song.” She added, “I will confess we didn’t know they used backing singers on ‘Sounds Of The Underground’ and ‘Stay Another Day’. But we’re not the first band to use them and we definitely won’t be the last.”

Popstars Pair Make A Love Connection

The Sunday People reports singer Sarah Harding has fallen for one of the guys who was thrown out of the rival Popstars boy band, Mikey Green. The pair met again at a showbiz party in London and hit it off immediately before going back to a hotel. Schedules have made it tough for the two to stay in touch.

Pop Rivals Girl Group Warm Up With Booze

The Mirror reports the freezing cold girls of the Pop Rivals band resorted to drinking booze to keep warm on the set of their debut single, ‘Sound Of The Underground’. A source revealed, “They were filming in a derelict, freezing warehouse. After a while even their fluffy robes weren’t doing the trick so they had to resort to knocking back brandy. It certainly put the glow back into their cheeks.”
