Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory have prepared a couple of very special Christmas messages for fans, filmed in the back streets of N1 in London on Wednesday (December 19). The duo are set to release their new album ‘Seventh Tree’ in February. Watch the pair perform what appears to be an original holiday tune, not named, below.
Goldfrapp checked in with fans on their blog at Myspace on Friday (October 26) with an announcement regarding their new album. They write:
Hello Deers
We are very pleased and proud to announce that GOLDFRAPP will release their fourth album, ‘Seventh Tree’ through Mute on February 25th 2008. ‘Seventh Tree’ is written and produced by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory and was recorded at their own studio deep in the English countryside.
A sensual counterpoint to the glitterball glamour of Supernature, ‘Seventh Tree’ is gilded in the butterfly colours of an English surrealism shared from Lear to Lennon. It shimmers and shines with the warmth of a hazy summer, an electric whirlpool over which Alison’s glistening voice soars.
Alison and Will say “We can’t wait for you to hear what we’ve been doing. It comes from the heart and was made with love, so we hope you will be into it too.”
We’ll let you know the track listing and get you a sneaky peak of the album artwork just as soon as we can. Naturally you’ll be the first to know.

Goldfrapp’s Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory checked in with fans on the duo’s Myspace on Tuesday (October 16). They write:
Hi everybody!
Howz it goin?!
Been a long time, I know, but we have finally emerged from our beavering hole in Somerset and have an album! Hooray! Feels really good to have finished it and we can’t wait for you to hear what we have been doing. It’s very different to ‘Supernature’, so it might come as a bit of a shock to some of you. We had fun making it and loved doing something that is in complete contrast to the last album, even though sometimes it took a bit of courage to steer as far away as we did on some of the tunes. It’s come from the heart and was made with love so we hope you will be into it too.
We love hearing what you’re all up to and what you’re thinking on the Goldfrapp message board so keep it coming please!

Goldfrapp checked in with fans on their blog at Myspace on Monday (October 8) with the following news: “News has reached these parts that after months of beavering away in studios from the West Country to the West Coast, and having returned from their recent stint in LA LA land, Alison and Will are in the UK putting the finishing touches to the album this week. As yet untitled, it will be rearing its antlers early next year.”
Goldfrapp posted the following message to fans on their blog at Myspace on Wednesday (July 11):
As you can see from the view out of our studio window on goldfrapp.co.uk we’re still locked away in the countryside working away on songs for our new album.
We’ve been busy writing and recording since the end of last year – winter was hard but the shoots started appearing in the spring and should be ready for harvest by the end of the year. Meanwhile we’re getting new ideas together for the artwork and the website so keep your eyes and ears peeled…
