The Daily Star reports that after competing for lead roles in a remake of ’60s classic ‘Valley Of The Dolls’, Christina Aguilera has struck a friendship with Australian actress turned singer Holly Valance. “Christina told Holly that she thought she had deliberately worn a raunchy outfit to show her up,” a source revealed of their initial meeting. “But Holly just laughed and took it on the chin. The next thing was Christina laughed too and they just hit it off. Christina was bowled over by Holly’s presence on camera.” The two have kept in touch and Aguilera is seeking advice on up-and-coming movie projects with the former ‘Neighbours’ star.
The Daily Telegraph reports visa problems prevented Holly Valance from accepting a role in the top rated CBS show, ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’. The actress turned singer couldn’t organize a green card in time, so had to pass up the role, which would have been her first acting gig since she left the role of Flick in ‘Neighbours’ to pursue her singing career.
Ash bass player Mark Hamilton spoke with Top of the Pops’ website in a Q&A about various pop acts, and was asked if there are any records that he owns that he hides when people come around. “I suppose cos we’re on the same label as Holly Valance and er, what do you call her, Hilary Duff that when I go round the CD shelves I grab them cos I grab everything,” he admitted. “I just get those for the bonus DVD stuff, if you know what I mean. After you’ve had a couple of looks at the DVD stuff though that’s it. It’s not stuff that you’d be proud to own.”
News of the World reports Holly Valance has been dropped by Warner Music Group while working on her comeback album. Holly admitted, “I’m not altogether surprised about the recent news. I’m currently working on new music with some of the world’s top writers and producers and I’ve also got a movie project lined up for this summer.” No word on how she plans on distributing the new music.

The Mirror reports Holly Valance has fled Britain for her native Australia after a series of devastating blows to her career. Insiders say it’s unlikely Warners will renew her record contract, while her bid at acting classes hasn’t led to any film offers. “She’s really keen to be taken seriously – she doesn’t want to have to take her clothes off,” a friend said. “But casting directors don’t see her as a classical actress and she’s really frustrated.” A source said grimly, “It really is crisis time for Holly. She’s only got four months left on her record contract and she knows it won’t be renewed. She’s gone to Australia to assess her options.”
The Sun reports Holly Valance has signed a $5.7 million advertising campaign for beauty giants Schwarzkopf, where she’ll be the face of their Live hair dye range. “It was great to be chosen as the face of Schwarzkopf,” Valance said. “After all, don’t blondes have more fun.”
