Howie Dorough checked in with fans on his Twitter (@howie_d) page to talk about the birth of his baby son James Hoke Dorough. The Backstreet Boys star writes:

THANKS SO MUCH to everyone for ALL the congrats! Leigh & James are both doing well! He came a little early but here and ready to hang w/BSB!

He’s so cute and has a full head of hair!!! He’s the newest little Don Juan so watch out ladies!!

AJ asked for us to name him after him so being such a nice BSB I did. lol Actually we both loved the name before he said anything.

James is the name of my great grandfather on my dad’s family and Saint James was the church we got married in. He’s now our little St. James

Pictures will be coming. Still in the hospital and all he’s wearing is a diaper. Need to get him dressed so you ladies don’t get to excited.

Gonna go see him now. :)

The Backstreet Boys’ official web site just announced that Howie Dorough and wife Leigh Boniello are celebrating the birth of their first child. BackstreetBoys.com states:

James Hoke Dorough was born at 2:30pm on May 6th. He weighed 4.5 pounds and was 16 1/4?. Howie and Leigh named him after Howie’s dad. Both Mommy and baby are doing great and Howie D is an ecstatic new daddy. They’d like to thank everyone for their well wishes!!

Backstreet Boys star Howie Dorough and his wife Leigh, a real estate broker, tell People magazine they’re expecting their first child in June. “I know she’s going to be a great mother,” says Howie. “If she can take care of me, the biggest baby in the entire world, I think she’s going to be okay with the little one coming along.” Read more.

Howie Dorough spoke with ABS-CBN News about meeting with Sarah Geronimo in Manila earlier this week, with the Backstreet Boys star in the Philippines to record a music video with her and promote her newest album entitled ‘Just Me’. “She’s a lovely lady,” Howie D. said. “When I was asked about doing a project with her about four or five months ago by Christian de Walden I was very honored. I went online and I checked out on the internet and realized that she’s a huge superstar here and around the world. I was in Canada for Backstreet Boys on tour just a month ago in two different areas. I was at a different place where I bumped into some people from the Philippines and I said I was going to the Philippines they said ‘ah for vacation’ and I said ‘I’m actually working with a girl name Sarah Geronimno’ and they said ‘Oh Sarah Geronimo!’. Howie Dorough spoke with OK! magazine about celebrating his honeymoon with wife Leigh Boniello on the beautiful white beaches of Antigua. “The beaches had some of the most amazing white sand we have ever seen,” the Backstreet Boys star said. “We would have loved to stay longer.” As for children, the couple said it’s “definitely” in their future, but not now. “Right now, we want to enjoy traveling and being married,” Howie said.
