Ingrid Michaelson ‘Everybody’ Track By Track
Staten Island singer songwriter Ingrid Michaelson offered a track by track commentary for the twelve songs on her fourth album ‘Everybody’, out now on Cabin 24. Watch the video via YouTube below.
Ingrid Michaelson Scolds Ignorant Album Review
Ingrid Michaelson blasted someone who gave her new album ‘Everybody’ a one-star review online, not for the rating but for calling the CD “Gay!!!”. The singer songwriter told her Twitter followers:
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion… Except ignorant a@#holes. :) yay!
Young people these days need to not say “gay” to mean something negative. It pisses me off. If you don’t like my record, say it’s sh**. Say it’s boring, say I sound like a dying seal… Just don’t say it’s “gay.” You just end up sounding like a jack ass.
I will now climb off of my high horse, feed him some oats, and turn in for the night. xo everyone.
Ingrid Michaelson Is Thankful For ‘Everybody’ Success
Ingrid Michaelson checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace on Wednesday (August 26), talking about the sales success of her fourth album ‘Everybody’, which came out Tuesday. The New York based indie pop singer songwriter tells readers:
Yesterday my self released album (under my own label, Cabin 24), EVERYBODY reached number one on the iTunes charts. I can not believe it.
Thank you to Original Signal and Universal Motown, the labels that distribute and market my album.
Thank you to everyone who bought, tweeted, blogged, plogged and smogged.
Thank you to anyone who posted my neato widget (which you can find on my MySpace).
Thank you to all the radio stations spinning MAYBE and to all the people calling and requesting it.
Thank you to my friends and family and management and web people and art people and everyone who supports me for just being plain rad ladies and gents.
Thank you. I am a lucky human. Beyond lucky.

Ingrid Michaelson Recoils At Adult Contemporary Classification
Ingrid Michaelson wasn’t happy with something she read before going to bed tonight, taking to Twitter to let her fans know about it. She could be referring to a story posted Thursday from the New York Times, which compared ‘American Idol’ winner Kris Allen with “the stuff of adult-contemporary radio” which she was mentioned as one of several artists. Michaelson writes:
Listen 2 the whole CD… don’t sum up an artist on 1 song. Snobs… not you. Reviewers. You write one super poppy song and you are screwed.
Lazy people who pass judgment on an artist’s entire body of work without listening to it. Disgusting. Shameful. Do your job.
Enough. I go to bed. All fired up.
I do not aspire to be under the category of “adult contemporary”. Maybe I need more 12 piece horn sections and I should sing slightly off key
Ingrid Michaelson: Dell Commercial Rips Off ‘Be OK’
Ingrid Michaelson isn’t happy with the music for an ad promoting the Studio One 19, Dell’s all-in-one consumer system that supports multi-touch in a variety of applications. The singer songwriter writes on her Twitter:
wow… someone ripped off my song “BE OK”… wow ..

Ingrid Michaelson Discusses R.E.M. Tribute Show Performance
Ingrid Michaelson checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace on Friday (March 13), talking about her participation in a R.E.M. tribute show in New York City. The singer songwriter tells readers:
I had the good fortune to be one of 20 artists asked to be part of the R.E.M. tribute show at Carnegie Hall two nights ago. I did “Nightswimming” armed with only a looping pedal and my friend Chris on upright bass. I love that song. It seasoned my summer of ‘93. I listened to ‘Automatic for the People’ on constant rotation that summer. So when I was asked which song I wanted to do, I knew immediately.
R.E.M. was there, in the audience. I have never been so nervous in all of my life. I was trembling a good 20 minutes after I walked off stage.
