Jessica Simpson Comments On John Mayer & Tony Romo

dresses up in country attire on the September issue of Elle magazine, where the singer discusses her previous relationship with , and current one with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

“John believed in the Jessica Simpson that’s within,” Simpson said of Mayer. “He cherished our love. He helped make me the woman I am today. John is going to be an amazing man for someone, but I know that I was supposed to be with someone else.”

As for Romo, Simpson remarked, “Most of the guys I dated were captivated by my heart but they had different ways of trying to get to me. Tony understands me. He appreciates my talent. He’s the first person I’ve spiritually connected with. I’m a girl that loves to be in love. I love love!”

Jessica Simpson Explains Why She’s Ditching Pop For Country

During an appearance on K-FROG 95.1 in Colton, California on Tuesday, talked about transitioning from pop to country music with her new single ‘Come On Over’. “This is a pivotal moment in my career and my life,” Simpson said. “I feel I’ve kind of stepped over into new territory, but it feels so much at home for me. I really just wanted to showcase the talent that God has given me and I don’t believe that in pop music I ever had the chance to stand on two feet and stand firm and just feel comfortable and really just use what God has given me. Through country music and with the lyrics and it’s okay to do a ballad and it could be played on the radio, it doesn’t really happen in the pop world.” Watch the interview via YouTube below.

Jessica Simpson Hospitalized & Released After Kidney Infection

People magazine has learned was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Friday after suffering a fever. There, it was learned the singer was suffering from a kidney infection. A rep for Simpson told the magazine that she “has been released and is doing fine.”

Jessica Simpson Promotes Kuwait MySpace Concert On ‘Today’

Romo broke the ice when he joked about the situation while claiming his award at Monday's luncheon. As Simpson looked on, Romo speculated about what made him qualify as Cosmo's Fun, Fearless Male, saying: "Dane Cook, ... if you date Jessica Simpson, I guess." Jessica Simpson Gives Tony Romo A Lap Dance After Low Key Flight

A passenger who flew on a flight from San Jose, California to Los Angeles on Saturday with and her boyfriend Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys spoke with UsMagazine.com about the couple. "A passenger two rows ahead of them was a Cowboys fan and he asked the flight attendant to give them drinks from him," the passenger explained. "They accepted and each had a beer. Jessica looked totally bored on the flight." Things livened up for Simpson when the pair went to Villa later in the evening. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo may be heading down the aisle with , or so believes his pal Michael Starr. "I think they're going to get married," he said. "I think they could go the distance." Starr added that the celebrity couple are "perfect for each other. They're both funny and wonderful and kind. I'm rooting for them." Meanwhile, Jessica's ex-husband Nick Lachey is also voicing supportive words about Jessica's latest love. "I wish her nothing but happiness," he told Us Weekly. "If she's found that... good for her."

John Mayer Defends Jessica Simpson Over Cowboy Fans’ Criticism

checked in with fans on his official web site's blog on Tuesday (January 15), coming to the defense of his ex-girlfriend after she's been facing criticism for her relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. Following the team's exit in their first playoff game of the season, some blamed her for the bye week getaway to Cabo she and Tony took. Mayer writes:

Dear Dallas and Surrounding Areas,

This isn't a sports blog, and it isn't a publicity stunt. (but have at me if it feels right.)

This is about doing what I think is right as a person, in this case speaking my mind.

I have never known anyone to have more pride in their home state and their upbringing in it than Jessica Simpson has in Texas. I don't really follow sports, but I have played some of my biggest and best concerts in your state, and having witnessed how dynamic the spirit there is, I'm betting emotions are running high right about now.

All witty barbs, blogs, and fashion policing aside, that girl loves Texas more than you know. It's one of her most defining traits as a person. So please don't try and take that away from her. (You probably wouldn't be able to, but it's less work for all involved.)

I just thought it would mean something coming from the guy who has the absolute least to gain from this. And if I'm out of line in having written it, too bad. I can spare a Wednesday's worth of bad press if it means sticking up for a good soul.
