Jessie Malakouti updated fans on her blog at MySpace on Wednesday (August 26), talking about what happened to her song ‘Trash Me’, which received attention after Britney Spears released a song sounding suspicously like the track called ‘If You Seek Amy’. More recently, the song was covered by ‘The Hills’ star Heidi Montag – apparently without Jessie’s blessing. The former Shut Up Stella singer seems to point the finger at Max Martin for lifting the song after she went to Sweden to work with the famed producer for a few weeks. Malakouti writes:
A couple of okay songs came out of the trip, but I didn’t have the same connection with the unmentionables that I did with Xenomania. So I signed to Xenomania and began working on my debut album.
Fast forward a few months, and a little tune called
Trash Me “If U Seek Amy” comes out by Britney Spears, which was funny enough stolen written by these same Swedish unmentionables I had thought were my friends. Of course, Britney being on a major label was able to do something I could not do, go to radio with my song go to radio with her song, and thus ruin any chance I had at releasing my ORIGINAL material. To add even more salt to the wound, Heidi Montag decides to murder cover my song, and gets more recognition than I ever did for my own art.
So you see people, “Trash Me” has become a bit tainted for me, and to be honest a bit old!

Jessie Malakouti spoke about her nightmare of a day at London’s Heathrow airport on her blog at MySpace on Thursday (January 29), furious after being arrested and detained several hours for not having a work permit since she was visiting the country to perform. The former Shut Up Stella singer tells readers:
Yesterday I flew back to London, after my 12 HOUR flight (as if that wasn’t bad enough) I get to immigration, where the immigration officers decide that I am violating paragraph 16 of schedule 2 to the 1971 Act, and then arrest me under paragraph 17! (No, I am NOT MAKING THAT UP-)
WHY YOU ASK? So did I, and unfortunately I wasn’t given an answer for over 5 hours…
First they took me to baggage claim, had me identify my bags, then they went through each and every item inside, (panties included) after that they took me to some security room in the back and strip searched me, took my finger prints and a mug shot!!!!
When I asked the pathetic excuse for a man AKA the chief Immigration officer what my rights were, he laughed at me and said “Oh the AMERICAN girl wants to know if she has any rights?” He then put his finger in my face and told me to shut up and watch my “attitude” as he escorted me to what was basically a fu**ing cell!

Jessie Malakouti checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace on Tuesday (September 30) while in London, England. The former Shut Up Stella singer writes:
I’m writing this blog from the freezing freaking city they call London Town – curled up in my blanky, sipping P.G. Tips and staring out the window and wondering why the fu** I can’t adjust to this time schedule as it is day 3…
Other than my severe jet lag, I can’t really complain… Seriously, I have the coolest job ever, I get to travel the world and make music- Um, duh?
I’ve been @ Xenomania with Brian and Miranda and the rest of the crew all week, writing, recording, taking meetings, hanging out with rockstars, WAIT – BACK UP??? DID SHE SAY “ROCKSTARS”? Yeah, only JONNY MAHER… yes THE SMITHS JONNY? MODEST MOUSE JONNY? and um some little ‘ol band called THE PET SHOP BOYS – but it’s really no big deal, ;) Syke.

Jessie Malakouti weighed in on last night’s MTV Video Music Awards on her blog at MySpace earlier today. The former Shut Up Stella singer writes:
Ok, is it just me or did the MTV VMA’s totally fu**ing suck?
Other than seeing Brit Brit smile, it was all very dull…
Can we say SUPER LOW BUDGET?????
And what was up with that “Stage”?
I was so excited because so many of my favorite artists were performing tonight, but the whole time I was watching all I could think of was how it was such a let down.. I won’t name names, but a lot of the performances were weak…. Granted, I can’t talk – I’ve never played the VMA’s, but you better believe next year I will be, and my performance will be a hell of a lot more exciting than 97% of what went on tonight… I’m so sick of how “safe” the music biz is right now, it’s really falling apart – Suits aren’t taking chances which is why we all hear the same damn 4 songs on the radio…. I personally cannot even listen to top 40 anymore, this may sound funny but I’ve been bumping Coast 103.5! hahahaha!!

How’s it going? I’ve never been better! I’m getting really close to finishing the album I’ve always wanted to make…. (Just added one of my favorite songs to the space… “Driving Around” GO LISTEN IF YOU HAVEN’T )
I’ve been collaborating with some very cool new people! (I know you all Love “Big Booty” well that was produced by none other than Mr. Wayne Rodrigues: Ascap writer of the year himself! He’s the man you can thank (or curse LOL) for having Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten” stuck in your head all summer…) Also Arnthor Birgisson is in town from Sweden, I just absolutely love creating songs with him!
It’s great to be back in LA in my comfort zone this time around to work with him… We’re throwing out Bangers like they were “so last year” :)
OK – Now for the “Trash Me” Video, I know you are all wondering where the heezy it is, well… I can’t really explain other than it’s finished and it’s amazing and we have VERY big plans for it.. so you’ll have to be patient with me and wait for the exclusive which will be soon, I promise…
I love you all! I have the best fans in the world! Thank you for your fan art… remember to vote because I’m choosing a sticker design in one week! (click to view and vote)
