Joey Fatone tells ‘Access Hollywood’ the work involved with being on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and being on the Nutri-System program have helped him drop 20 pounds. The former *NSYNC star has to now say “no” to seconds and “yes” to smaller portions. “Yeah it’s small,” Joey says after showing ‘Access’ one of his meals. “I’d love to get more of it.”
Conan O’Brien joked during his Late Night monologue on Tuesday night, “Last night, I don’t know if you saw it, but last night during ‘Dancing With The Stars’, Joey Fatone from *NSYNC danced to the theme from ‘Star Wars’. It’s true. Yeah. Fatone did this just to prove that there is something more embarrassing than being in *NSYNC.”
MTV News has more details on Lance Bass’ People magazine cover story, where the former *NSYNC star revealed that he is gay. Joey Fatone was Lance’s first bandmate he told about being gay, after Fatone walked in on Bass with a male date at his house in Orlando, Florida.
Fatone’s response at the time? “Dude, I don’t care,” Bass recalled him saying. Chris Kirkpatrick found out last summer and JC Chasez three months ago. “Very few people have the guts to come up to you and say, ‘Hey, are you gay?'” Bass said. “I’m pretty sure they all knew and they probably all talked to each other, but they had the respect to let me tell them. I haven’t had the conversation with Justin [Timberlake] yet. I know he knows, but I’ve never really sat him down and said it. I will be calling him.”
Lance Bass Gets Support From Former Bandmates

Wolfrum of TravelGolf.com weighed in on the news that former *NSYNC star Lance Bass announced he is gay. “So if someone like Bass can take the plunge, will there come a day when an active male professional athlete admits to homosexuality,” he asked. “Do we all seriously believe that there are no male homosexual golfers on the PGA or European Tours?”
Wolfrum added, “Hiding and lying for the sake of others is no way for anyone to live. Not if you’re a pop star, or even a golfer.”
Former *NSYNC star Lance Bass tells People magazine he is, as many have long speculated, gay. “I knew that I was in this popular band and I had four other guys’ careers in my hand, and I knew that if I ever acted on it or even said (that I was gay), it would overpower everything,” says Bass, referring to bandmates Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez and Justin Timberlake. “I didn’t know: Could that be the end of *NSYNC? So I had that weight on me of like, ‘Wow, if I ever let anyone know, it’s bad.’ So I just never did.”
