TV Guide insider spoke with former New Kids on the Block star Joey McIntyre on his new acting role in ‘Boston Public.’ “I’ve been acting since I was a kid, but I figured I’d stay in New York or Boston,” he said. “I wasn’t going to come out here lookin’ for a gig, but I came out here for a day and did the audition for Boston Public. I was just really excited that I got it – I’m from Boston, so it’s really exciting to be able to represent!”

The New York Post reports former New Kid On The Block Joey McIntyre was overheard at Veruka telling friends he has scored a role in “Boston Public” next season – as a teacher. Taping for the show begins next week. The Post wasn’t so accurate though when they said Joey’s been wisely avoiding the music business. Joe Mac just last month was all over TV and radiowaves promoting his ‘A One Man Show With Two People Starring Joe Mac and Eman’ club tour, which wrapped up June 22nd in Boston.

The Chicago Sun Times reports former New Kid on the Block Joey McIntyre was spotted at the House Of Blues Back Porch Restaurant on Thursday afternoon eating a hamburger and fries the day after his sold-out acoustic show at the House of Blues.

Former member of New Kids On The Block, Joey McIntyre is back with a solo CD called ‘One Too Many’. He performed from the WGN-TV studios this morning. Video has since been removed.
