Earlier this month, JoJo sang the National Anthem at the MLS Cup Final match between the Los Angeles Galaxy and Houston Dynamo with Galaxy taking the victory 1-0. It also marked the end of David Beckham’s 5 year contract, and could have possibly been his final game with the team.
The pop singer is set to release her long awaited third studio album ‘Jumping Trains’ in 2012, led by the first single ‘Disaster’.
JoJo premiered her music video for ‘Disaster’, taken from the Boston pop singer’s forthcoming album ‘Jumping Trains’, due out in early 2012. “I’m thrilled to present you with ‘Disaster’, the first visual from my new album, ‘Jumping Trains’. JoJo recently spoke with Idolator in a Q&A, where the 20-year-old “veteran” pop singer talked about her upcoming third album ‘Jumping Trains’, touring with Joe Jonas, releasing the ‘Can’t Take That Away From Me’ mixtape last year, international promo plans, how her songwriting has evolved, growing up idolizing Michael Jackson, and her love for jazz.
“Oh my god, I would faint at the thought of it — but faint from excitement,” JoJo said about the prospects of recording a few jazz songs. “I love jazz! Yes, I would love to do that. I listen to jazz all the time. Jill Scott is one of my favorite artists. Not that she’s a jazz singer, but there’s a lot of jazz influence. She recorded this cover of ‘Good Morning Heartache’, which, there’s a small saxophone solo at the beginning, and I listen to that every day. Jazz makes me feel so many different ways.”
JoJo kicked off her Pinktober Hard Rock Café tour on Monday in Baltimore playing an acoustic cover of Rihanna’s hit single ‘What’s My Name’. JoJo spoke with TheInsider.com about her new album ‘Jumping Trains’, the issues she’s had with her record label, how she’s changed since her 2006 release ‘The High Road’, what inspired her ‘Disaster’ music video, and more. “I wrote the song because I was in a relationship where I just felt like I was locked in place,” JoJo said about the album’s title track. “I wasn’t moving forward in my life. He was ready for things that I wasn’t ready for as far as commitment. I wanted to explore the world and be this young woman and travel and have my career and everything. That’s where it came from.”
JoJo recently stopped by HeartSOUL headquarters for a private tour, photo shoot, and interview. The ‘Disaster’ singer talked about some of her favorite looks from the line as well as her new album, ‘Jumping Trains’.
“My new album ‘Jumping Trains’ has definitely been a labor of love,” JoJo says. “It’s been my heart and soul, not to be really corny but I really put everything into this and it’s really a reflection of my truth and the things that I talk to my girlfriends about. It’s a good time.”

In part one of a 2-part interview with Rap-Up.tv, JoJo discussed her return to the spotlight with her upcoming album ‘Jumping Trains’, the first single ‘Disaster’, the big name producers she collaborated with, and her favorite song on the project. “I think ‘Disaster’ is a great first single because it’s kind of like a natural progression from ‘Too Little Too Late’, which is the last big single that I had officially released on a label,” JoJo said about the single. “So it just felt like the right transition to make… I wanted to give my fans that had been patiently waiting one of those big pop records that I love to sing, still there’s definitely a soulful element to it.”

JoJo continued her tour with Joe Jonas and Jay Sean, hitting Texas this week. The pop star recently stopped by the Target headquarters in Minneapolis to preview her new album ‘Jumping Trains’, which was documented in her latest webisode.
“The songs are quite personal,” JoJo says in the webisode. “I wanted to be transparent and honest, just keep it young and real and do something that I thought was a little bit different.”
“The reason that I decided to title the album ‘Jumping Trains’ after one of the songs was because not only the content of what I wrote in here, but because of what the act of actual freight hopping, or jumping trains symbolizes. It’s scary, it’s really dangerous, it’s risky, but if you make it, it’s worth the risk. I was inspired by back in the day during the prohibition era when people wouldn’t, hobos were freight hopping, not to get too historical but I am a history buff. I’m like, ‘Man, that is so dangerous. I wanted to take risks with this album. It’s such an important album for me. This is my third and this is my introduction into the market as an adult and as a songwriter and to really solidify myself as a vocalist, so there’s just great importance on this moment, and I wanted to bring that sense of urgency into the title and just with the entire atmosphere.”
