Justin Guarini Teams Up With Nicole Richie

Star magazine reports ‘’ runner-up and Lionel Richie’s daughter Nicole are teaming up on a tune he wrote. The speculation is that the singer is hoping to strike gold with Richie now that she’s found fame on ‘The Simple Life’ and he’s been put on ice by RCA. “Guarini doesn’t take direction from anyone, even when it’s for his own good,” a source from ‘American Idol’ told Victoria Gotti.

Us Weekly caught up with ‘’ champ to discuss the ‘World Idol’ competition and the bad fortunes of fellow ‘Idol’ , who has seen his participation in the reality show fizzle. “You know what? It’s sad for the record label,” Clarkson said, referring to RCA. “They let a real talent go. The boy plays piano and guitar, he writes, he sings. But I’ve talked to him and he’ll be fine.”

Justin Guarini Dumped Following ‘Idol’ Power-Play

Wondering why ‘’ runner-up didn’t appear on last night’s ‘American Idol Christmas’? Star magazine reports he refused to appear on the program, upset that he didn’t get the support for his record from RCA. “Justin feels his album was left to languish,” an insider told Star magazine. “He’s disappointed over the lack of success he’s had in the wake of the show.” Guarini’s power-play appears to have backfired though, as Simon Cowell revealed to Us Weekly he’s been dropped.

Simon Cowell confirmed to Us Weekly that ‘’ runner-up has been dropped by RCA Records after selling only 57,000 copies of his self-titled debut. “He’s been dropped. It happens sometimes,” Cowell said at the ‘Love Actually’ premiere. ‘Idol’ champ was shocked to hear the news. “Oh, my God,” she exclaimed. “I had no idea. I’m friends with Justin. That is so sad.”

The Associated Press reports ‘’ runner-up has been sued by a couple who says he rammed into the back of their car on a Pennsylvania road. The lawsuit filed Friday in Northampton County Court contends that Guarini, 25, drove his truck into the rear of a car occupied by Bethlehem residents Louis A. and Adrienne Maiatico.
