Kaci Brown Discusses New Album & Interscope Exit

checked in with her MySpace friends on Thursday (November 6) with a bulletin about her new album. The Los Angeles based pop singer tells readers:

I’m doing all I can to make sure the record will be something you’ll all be proud of.

As most of you know, I’m no longer with Interscope. With records not selling like they used to, record companies don’t have budget to do with artists what they wish anymore.

I’m trying to do a record with all live instruments, which can be pretty costly after the studio space and all the musicians. It’s not as easy as programing a beat in the laptop and slapping a vocal down.

Therefore, a lot of time is going in to creating other marketing ideas, and making sure the record is everything I know it can be.

posted a performance of ‘Here I Go’ over at her YouTube channel. “This is a song I wrote a few weeks ago with a very dear friend of mine,” the singer writes. “We were playing around this past weekend on a GRAND PIANO baby ;) & decided to video it. Kaci Brown Sings ‘Cardboard Box’

posted a video update on her YouTube channel earlier today, performing a portion of her new song ‘Cardboard Box’. “It’s definitely going on my album, which I’m super excited about. I wrote it in Nashville with a gentleman by the name of Tommy Lee James. If you guys get a chance you should look him up. He’s super talented. He’s a really dear friend of mine we go really far back.” Watch the intro/performance below.

Kaci Brown Teaching At School Of Pop During Off Time

posted footage from her School Of Pop artist development class in Los Angeles, where the singer asked the students to say something she’s been teaching them in a southern accent. Kaci has been teaching the classes every Saturday. “It’s really, really cool,” Kaci said. “It’s a fun way to spend a Saturday. Kaci Brown 75% Finished With Sophomore Album

Kaci Brown Debates BlackBerry Or Sidekick

checked in with fans on her blog at Myspace on January 31st, “I think I may go phone shopping after my session in the studio today,” she writes. “My BlackBerry’s been dropped a few too many times! (notice-I didn’t say ONE!) haha! I’m debating between the new BlackBerry and a Sidekick. Ah, I know! Everyone has a Sidekick. I think Sidekicks are a little too animated, but then again, I could just be too opinionated. I pride myself on being frugal, so I want to make sure I’m going to be satisfied with whatever purchase I make. I’m such a fan of the BlackBerry, but I’m also a creature of habit. As you can see, I’m very complex – & make things so much more difficult than they really are.”
