It is already the first week of the new year of 2009. Wow. How did that happen. Happy New Year everyone!!! I hope you all had a great holiday and new year.
I wanted to say thank you so much for all of you who so generously donated to the cause in Africa. I was so stunned. Please know that I know how difficult things can get financially and the fact that you actually took the time and pulled personal money means so much. It is going to change a village in Africa.
All my love and this should be an exciting new year.
‘American Idol’ Katharine McPhee checked in with her MySpace friends (@katharinemcphee) on Wednesday (December 24) with the following bulletin:
Hi everyone. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. And… New Year is a week away. What a great few years this has been. I cannot believe how fast everything is going. It seems like yesterday when I was posting a Christmas note and song and yet that is a couple of years ago. A lot has happened since then. I want to wish everyone a great Christmas and Holiday season. Things may seem bleak at times when we look at what is going on in the world but as I said at Thanksgiving, most of us have so much to be thankful for and we are so blessed.
I know that there has been a lot of mystery at times as to what is going on with my record and career but please be patient. Next year is going to be a really exciting year and as I always have said, I don’t like to talk about anything until it is in writing. You are all the best fans in the world. Always so encouraging and caring and loyal and supportive. You are amazing!
I did receive all the Christmas presents and actually opened them early. Thank you so much. I loved opening each and every one of them. You have always been so generous. I also have to thank you for supporting the project in Africa. It is very dear to my heart and you all jumping in and helping out financially is fantastic. These children and the community will be impacted forever. It is one of the poorest countries in all of Africa and has one of the lowest literacy rates. This is a small but powerful step in helping change from inside the education system of this small country. Thank you thank you thank you.
I also sent out a post regarding my new Facebook. You know me; I don’t know a lot about computers etc but I am excited about having this as another resource. However, you will be updated sometime in the New Year with regard to all things web. As you know, I have always wanted a central place for everyone to just sort of hang and get information and chat. I am again working on that and Facebook and MySpace will eventually help make that happen.
All my love and Ho Ho Ho…
Katharine McPhee checked in with her MySpace (@katharinemcphee) friends on Tuesday (November 18) with a bulletin discussing Thanksgiving, yourcause.com, and an appearance on ‘The View’. The ‘American Idol’ season five runner-up writes:
Hi everyone. I want first of all to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. I know I say it every year but we really have so much to be thankful for in comparison to a lot of the world. I know people are hurting and some are struggling financially and my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone. It sort of is a weird segue then into giving but some have asked about McPhee Outreach and what is going on this year.
Please go to yourcause.com and something that is very dear to my heart is there and tells how you can get involved if you choose. It is a project I have been working on for the past year. You will see that you can donate through an organization I am using. Global Compassion is not my organization but they are helping with passing the funds directly to the ground in Africa. Please know that every dollar goes directly to the project. On this project there is no “over head.” No one gets paid and that is why am working with them. Every brick is being paid for with each dollar. Do what you can. There are also books and back packs etc to be purchased. Please put in the note if you decide to donate, McPhee Outreach.
On another note, I will be on ‘The View’ tomorrow. I had waited to announce it because I was not sure it was going to work out in the schedule but it did. I am helping to promote David Foster’s new CD and DVD and PBS special. It was a great show and I love working with David.
That is about it.

Hi everyone! Wow. I again can’t believe how quickly time flies. It seems like yesterday that I was getting ready for the ‘House Bunny’ premiere. Being that it was my first premiere, I can’t tell you just how excited I was. Thank you all again for your continued support in everything. You guys helped push it to a very successful #2 opening and it’s doing amazing still. It’s been incredible. Everyone at Adam Sandler’s company as well as Sony has been incredible to work with and so supportive of all us girls and the movie. For a first experience I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Yes, the Barbie song and video has come out. I am really proud of it and had a blast making it. I loved Barbie growing up and its such a fun song and video. Things are good and there are a lot of fun things coming up. Thanks as always for all the support and encouragement. I know I say it all the time but I COULD not make it without you.
