Hello everyone. I know, I know…I have been quiet for a long time now. I apologize but I always feel awkward if I don’t feel like there is much to talk about. You know me by now and until there is something in ink, I usually am quiet about it. Anyway, this is me Kat and I do read often what everyone writes in. You are the greatest fans in the world. I love that it’s also social and people talk to each other and some have become friends. I thank you thank you all so much always for your support. This is why I am here and people making trips all across the country etc always blows me away.
Foster and Friends was a blast and to have special people in the audience made a huge difference. All your gifts and notes are amazing as well. Thank you.
Right now I am in the middle of ‘House Bunny’ promotion as well as getting ready to shoot another movie ‘The Storyteller’ that I am also really excited about. I have been in and out of the studio just sort of fooling around and meeting great new people and doing some writing which is really exciting.
Neutrogena is on its way out and I really love and believe in the products. It makes it a lot easier to be part of. They have been great so far so I hope you guys will enjoy the commercials and seeing me on the late night infomercials. It will be fun. Please give the product a try and spread the word if you like it!
The Mattel song was a blast and should be out on DVD in the fall sometime. Whew, I guess things are busy. I am also looking forward to 4th of July in NY. I have never been there for the 4th and from what I hear, its like a huge event with tons of people.
On a sad note, I had to put my dog Lily down a week ago. It was really hard. She was such a huge part of my life for the past twelve years. Se got me through a lot. I sure miss her. Didn’t mean to end on a sad note but it’s all part of life. I love you all so much and it makes me water up just thinking how you have all stuck by me even when I have been silent. I will still continue to write you personally as much as I can. Be safe and be good to each other. I hope you all have a great 4th as well and I send all my love.

Hey everyone. How is it going? I know I haven’t sent a message in a couple of weeks but all is good. I have been busy looking for new music and doing some recording. I know that some people think that it isn’t me writing these messages. Not sure how to prove it but its me. In the past couple of weeks I have met some amazing people in the music industry. You may notice them on my top friends. One is Ingrid Michaelson and the other is Adam and Nikki Anders at Room For Two. I don’t like to advertise on MySpace but when you meet people that you really connect with, you want to share. Check them out if you get a minute.
I hope you are all good.
Lots of love, kat

Hey everyone. Well, as you have heard, its been a busy week. The past couple of months have been really busy. Oh, and thank you for all the birthday gifts, I loved them all. I had a great birthday and as most of the holidays or birthdays go, you guys help to always make it that much more special. I continue to be excited as to what the future is going to hold. Things take time and although it seemed like things moved 100 mph the past couple of years, that’s not how its always going to be. I have to realize that as well. Anything worth anything takes time. So thanks as always for all your support. Have a wonderful week.
Lots of love,

Hi everyone. It’s me again. Well, tomorrow night is ‘Idol’. When I think about it, I cannot believe it’s been two years. So much has happened in the past two years. I have been so blessed with everything and all of you have been a huge part of that. I haven’t purchased Randy Jackson’s album yet but as soon as I get off MySpace I am going to do it. Believe it or not I haven’t heard the entire song yet.
I have to say that I am really excited about tomorrow night. It’s going to be a lot of fun and I will get to see a lot of old friends that work on the show.
I hope that you all enjoy and have a great day.
Lots of love,

Hey everyone. I have just been reading through all your messages today and I know I always say it, but thank you, thank you. It means a lot and is so encouraging. I am returning home from being in NY for a bit. Had a lot of business stuff to take care of. Boy was it cold most of the time. Looking forward to getting back to warm weather. When you are so used to being in warm weather most of the time, ouch, its cold. Also I was going to send a note tonight regarding Idol but since a lot of people know already I am sending a note out now. I will be on the results show this next week. I am performing with David Foster and really looking forward to it. Its going to be so surreal being back at the studio and stage again and I can hardly wait. Its really exciting. Also the Randy Jackson track comes out the day before so I’d say its going to be a great week. Randy was terrific to work with and I had a blast in the studio with him.
Love to everyone and thanks again.

Oh my goodness… I finally was able to check most of my mail for the past couple of months and I popped in the McPhan Christmas DVD and I was blown away. I actually cried a little watching. Thank you thank you thank you for that. It really was very sweet and amazing to watch. It’s obvious now why I have been quiet for a while. I do really try and not talk about personal things as well as not post things until they are actually happening. There has been a lot going on and much more in the future. I want to thank you all so very much for your support and encouragement. It means a lot. Thank you guys. I don’t take it lightly all the time and effort and encouragement. I will be back posting every so often just to check in. I can’t promise all the time but I will do my best. Thank you for all the gifts as well. They were very exciting to open.
Lots of love,

Billboard.com reports ‘American Idol’ season five runner-up Katharine McPhee has parted ways with RCA Records after her 2007 self-titled debut sold just 366,000 units in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Though most ‘Idol’ albums were released just in time for Christmas to take advantage of the holiday sales bounce, McPhee’s disc didn’t get released until January 30th of last year, the slowest sales period of the year. Meanwhile, the album’s first single ‘Over It’ didn’t get a video release until nearly four weeks after the album dropped, where typically a first video would get released a month before the album is released.
It also should be noted that while past ‘Idol’ stars with albums usually received an opportunity to perform their new single the following season, but McPhee was denied that chance. They also snubbed her on the ‘Idol’ finale. The final misfortune handed to McPhee by RCA was waiting five months to release her second single ‘Love Story’ on May 22nd – ‘Idol’ season six ended the next day.
