Katy Perry is out with the music video to her new single ‘The One That Got Away’, off the Santa Barbara, California pop singer’s third studio album ‘Teenage Dream’, out now on Capitol Records.

“I’m so pleased to select ‘The One That Got Away’ as my sixth single because this song shows a very different side of me that I haven’t shown with my past singles on this record, I think that everyone can relate to this song,” Perry said. “I wrote (it) about when you promise someone forever, but you end up not being able to follow through. It’s a bittersweet story. Hopefully, the listener learns from hearing it and never has to say they had ‘The One’ get away.”

Katy Perry posted behind the scenes footage from the west coast leg of her ‘California Dreams’ Arena Tour 2011. “My idea of success is to get them a great show continuing every night and know that it’s a whole new set of people,” Perry said about her live shows. Katy Perry has released backstage and performance footage from the east coast leg of Katy Perry’s sold-out California Dreams Arena Tour 2011. “What the hell have you done to my face,” a makeup free Katy is seen telling her stylist in the video. “How come I look 45 today?” The response? “Because you’re dehydrated and you drank last night.”

Perry also got some positive feedback from her dancer Ashley. “As far as working with Katy, she’s very generous. She wants perfection. She wants her show to be great and she really cares about her fans.”

Katy Perry won the coveted award of the night at the MTV Video Music Awards, nabbing the Video of the Year Moonman for ‘Firework’. The song is off Perry’s second studio album, Teenage Dream.

“Tonight has been a night of firsts. This is my second Moonman, and I’m very, very proud of this because I’m very proud for the song that it stands for, which is ‘Firework’,” Perry told the audience with a yellow block on top of her head after accepting the Moonman from Katie Holmes. “I feel like I’m doing something right when I sing that song. So thank you so much for everybody who helped, in creating it, Dave Meyers, to Danny Lockwood, to my management. To all of y’all out there. To all my fans, salute. And last but not least, my husband [Russell Brand].”
