Footage from ExtraTerrestrial landings in Times Square, New York and in Los Angeles has been posted at Katy Perry’s YouTube channel. The clip features Perry’s new single ‘E.T.’ and dancers wearing the mask Katy wears in the song’s music video. Watch it below.
Katy Perry tells MTV she wanted someone to give her new single ‘E.T.’ another “dimension”, and that Kanye West was the guy to provide it. “He’s one of the greatest, to me, one of the greatest MCs of our generation,” Perry explained. “And I think we will look back in time at Kanye and recognize, even though he may be multi-dimensioned in so many different ways, that it’s hard to understand it and grasp our mainstream minds around it.”
Katy Perry says she’s as inspired by her fans as they are by her. “It turns me on to stare someone deep in their eyes,” she tells MTV News of looking out into the audience every night on her California Dreams Tour. “Sometimes I see all kinds of emotions. It’s a lot of emotion. It’s lovely, too, because I love people that are passionate about life and music in general. Music has been such a helping tool for me to get through so many things. That’s why I write a lot of times, is to continue to evolve as a person, and I can see the same thing has happened with other people; they’ve just adopted the song for themselves.”
Katy Perry posted some footage from the Los Angeles rehearsal footage for her sold-out California Dreams Arena Tour 2011 at The Forum. The pop star is seen trying out her elaborate outfits and practicing the choreography. Watch it via YouTube below.
Though Russell Brand had a reputation as a playboy before getting married to Katy Perry, the British comic tells USA Today he’s enjoying the domesticated life. “I love it,” the 26-year-old said. “I’m really very happily married. It’s such an emotional storm. It’s such an incredible intervention in my life. Since then, it’s been remarkably normal and real and gentle and loving. That’s why this film is so pertinent to me at this time. It made it easy for me to accept I could meet someone and change my objectives.”

Katy Perry is not happy with Calvin Harris after the Scottish DJ, producer and singer cancelled as the opening act on the UK leg of her Teenage Dream tour, which resumes Wednesday night in Nottingham. The pair write:

Footage from Katy Perry’s sold-out California Dreams Arena Tour 2011 has been posted at the singer’s YouTube channel. “To say that you have a sold-out arena tour in the first five years of career, it’s not supposed to happen like that,” Perry said. Watch it via YouTube below.
Robyn will join Katy Perry on the North American run of ‘The California Dreams Tour 2011′. The Swedish pop singer will open on 20 dates, including opening night at Gwinnett Arena in Duluth, Georgia (June 7) and three shows at Nokia Theatre/L.A. Live in Los Angeles (August 5, 6 & 7). “It’ll be fun touring with Katy Perry,” Robyn said. “She’s a terrific performer and I’m really thankful that’s she’s invited me to play for her audience.”
Robyn will return to the States this spring to perform at the Pool at the Cosmopolitan Casino in Las Vegas (April 14) and several festivals, including Coachella (April 15), Sasquatch (May 28) and Bonnaroo (June 12). See below for itinerary.

Katy Perry lashed out at the media moments ago on Twitter (@katyperry) after she had earlier Tweeted about doing product placement in music videos gracefully, something that has been questioned of late with Sony artists Britney Spears and Avril Lavigne stuffing their latest videos with their own merch and Sony electronics. Katy had originally said:
Do it with style & grace … Not so in your face like some. You have to get creative with it. Some artists don’t care though, & you can tell.
But after reports from Vulture and others pointing out her own product placement and suggesting the singer’s suggestion was a stab at Spears, Perry just Tweeted:
Dear tabloid media aka FILTH: please note I expressed an overall feeling about product placement, their roles in videos & the art of them being complimenting or sticking out. Most, if not ALL pop stars welcome deals with products to offset costs of big budget videos in these recessional music industry times. I’VE used them in MY videos before & am happy to be able to make a better video because of. Once AGAIN, stop pitting artists against artist for your sensational satisfaction & stick to what your best @: lying, gossiping, exaggerating & overall lending a hand to the deterioration of a generation.
