Geoff Lloyd of London’s Absolute Radio spoke to Kim Wilde at A Concert For Kirsty MacColl at Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Kim talked about her earliest Kirsty memory, how Kirsty was great fun to hang out with, loving Kirsty’s directness and honesty, and why she selected ‘They Don’t Know’ as her Kirsty song to cover for the evening. The show was in honor of the 10th anniversary of the death of the ’80s singer songwriter, who died in a freak diving accident while on vacation in Cozumel, Mexico. Profits made from concert go to The Music Fund for Cuba, created in memory of the MacColl. Watch the interview via YouTube below.

The Daily Mail reports Lily Allen and Elton John bickered with each other on stage at last night’s star-studded event at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, prompted by the ‘Smile’ singer’s deteriorating state as she sipped on champagne on stage.
Well into the show, Lily announced “…and now the most important part of the night”, prompting Elton to respond, “What? Are you going to have another drink?” Lily then fired back: “F*** off Elton. I am 40 years younger than you and have my whole life ahead of me!” The audience fell silent at the diss.
“I could still snort you under the table,” Elton told the 23-year-old. To which she replied: “Fu** off. I don’t know what you are talking about.”

Wilde Blasts ‘Deluded’ Elton
December 1, 2006 – Speaking at an opera house in Copenhagen, Denmark, Kim Wilde lashed out at Elton Joh. “He’s deluded. The man has always been deluded,” she fumed. “He’s lived a very unreal life for so many, many years, with so much excess that he’s lost touch with some realities of life. He’s become a self-indulgent person.”
Kim Wilde visited ‘TV Total’ in Cologne, Germany the other night, where she was given a ride on Stefan Raab’s spinning contraption. She talked about the new album ‘Never Say Never’, her UK gardening show, loving to be back into music, her tree transplanting world record, and later performed her new single ‘You Came’ and was joined by Raab for her signature hit ‘Kids In America’.
YouTube has since removed the video.
’80s pop star Kim Wilde has spoken out about today’s pop divas, expressing disappointment with Britney Spears but lavishing praise on Kylie Minogue. “Britney I’ve always been very disappointed by,” she said. “I mean, she has never really delivered. She seems to be an amazing performer, but it kind of stops there. She’s a long, long, long, long way from being anything like Madonna, which she clearly aspires to be.” But with Kylie, Wilde gushed, “I’ve always been a big Kylie fan.”
Kurtis Mantronik Talks Producing For Kylie
November 9, 2003 – Kurtis Mantronik tells The Herald Sun he wanted to show another side to Kylie Minogue on her new album ‘Body Language’, delivering the Aussie ‘Promises’ and ‘Obsession’, which are perhaps the most revealing songs of Kylie’s career. “I wanted to take Kylie a little deeper and create something a little more intense,” the producer said. “Her last album was great, but I wanted to make this one more full-on.” Mantronik declined an offer from Kylie to produce the entire ‘Body Language’ album. “It was a great honor for me,” he said. “But she is such a huge star. I didn’t want to take responsibility.”
