spoke with Australia’s Time Off magazine about her forthcoming album ‘Saltbreakers’, due out in March. “It has the same core players as all the others – so that’s the same – but there are a lot of band songs as well as stripped-down quieter ones,” Veirs said of the new disc. “I think it’s a more emotional record than in the past – went through a lot of personal changes and drama in the last year, so that’s reflected on there.” The full story at TimeOff.com.au has since been removed.

Laura Veirs Performs On ‘World Cafe’

Seattle-based singer and songwriter has just released a new album, ‘Year of Meteors’. It’s the follow-up to 2004′s ‘Carbon Glacier’, which was hailed as a masterful blend of pop, folk and country. Veirs dropped by ‘World Cafe’, and performed ‘Secret Someones’, ‘Galaxies’, ‘Fire Snakes’, ‘Lake Swimming’, and ‘Magnetized’. Listen to a replay of the program via NPR.org below.
