Lenka updated fans on her blog at MySpace (@lenkamusic) on Wednesday (March 25) after wrapping up her tour with fellow Australian singer songwriter Missy Higgins and Canadian/American artist Justin Nozuka. ‘The Show’ singer tells readers:
We played our last show with Missy Higgins and Justin Nozuka at the Fillmore in San Francisco and, wow, what a place to do it! Legendary for a reason…
I’d like to say a huge thanks to those two for having me on their tour, especially to Missy, who is an old friend from Australia and it has just been so special to be out on the road together… xx
We all stayed at the venue afterwards being very silly. We invented a new sport, which I can’t describe with words alone, but I can say this – my quads are like jelly today and I can’t walk because of it!
Lenka did an interview with IMEEM’s Campus Noise, where the Australian singer songwriter talked about something nobody knows about her – her dimple is actually a scar, songs she likes to cover live, what she’s been listening to lately, some Australian acts she thinks people should check out, who she’s excited to see if she has time at SXSW, and more.
Video at imeem.com has since been removed (the site was bought out by MySpace).
In order to not go insane, Australian singer songwriter Lenka and her band have made a mock exercise video. So fit, so healthy, so stupid. Inspired by the genius of Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show, Steve Erwin, Jane Fonda and Aerobics OZ Style. The clip stars Lenka, Danny Levin, Stella Mozgawa, Erik Kertes, John Graney and Ed Baker.
The video at Blender.com has since been removed.
Lenka apologized to fans hoping to see her perform at the House of Blues in Dallas on Saturday with Missy Higgins and Justin Nozuka, blaming it on mechanical troubles. The Australian singer songwriter tells readers on her blog at MySpace (@lenkamusic):
Hi guys, I’m so sorry to anyone who was planning to see me tonight in Dallas, but we’ve broken down and will not make the gig tonight!!!
I’m so bummed, but if you’re going, you’ll have a great night – Missy and Justin are phenomenal.
On the bright side, we are stranded in Austin, and I really love this city. Last night after the show (which was amazing, thanks you guys) we went to a beard and mustache competition. It was very fun.
Lenka checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@lenkamusic) on Tuesday (January 13), celebrating the fact that the video to her hit single ‘The Show’ has received over 1 million views at YouTube. The Australian singer songwriter tells readers:
Holy Bananas YOUTUBE!!!
My video for The Show has gotten over 1 million hits! Thanks to those of you who watched it over and over and over and over and over…… ;) I’m in Portland right now, about to load in and play at The Doug Fir tonight. The tour is going great so far! I will add some photos and stuff shortly. Lots of love and see you soon. xxL.

Altitude TV caught up with Lenka, Meiko, Thao Nguyen and Emily Wells backstage at the final stop on the Hotel Café Tour in Hollywood at the Music Box on November 18th. Meiko explained why Thao has been wearing her undies, Lenka discussed how they’ve been joining on each other’s sets to perform, Emily talked about being the only one not drinking before a show, and they all talked about being sad to see the tour come to an end.
Video of the interview, featuring highlights from the show, has since been removed at YouTube.
Lenka is out with the music video to her new single ‘Trouble Is A Friend’, the second release off the Australian singer songwriter’s self-titled debut album, out now on Epic Records. Watch it via YouTube below.
Lenka checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@lenkamusic) from the latest stop on the Hotel Café Tour. The Australian pop singer tells readers:
Hello from Portland!
I love it here, this city is so wonderful…
We’re at the Doug Fir, all us girls sitting backstage, chilling out, eating corn chips. This tour is the best thing, I’m just loving it. To perform up on stage with these other unique ladies is a really special experience. If you get the chance, you gotta come check it out! It’s a really cool show with lots of on-stage shenanigans…!
The only bad thing is I’m not able to put up my stage props, so I’m looking forward to doing my own tour (early next year!) and setting up LenkaLand proper!
The Gibson Green Room’s McKenna caught up with Lenka, who talked about the recent buzz the female singer songwriter genre has enjoyed, which Lenka said she wasn’t pressured by and viewed it as a positive development.
“It’s a good thing because it means there’s some sort of zeitgeist happening,” the Australia native said. “If there’s a lot of people doing something it becomes like a movement, a trend, and it’s maybe easier for people to pick that as a genre that they like.”
Lenka then talked about the Hotel Café Tour, and believing it won’t be competitive or catty, since they’re all so different.
