Venice Magazine spoke with Lisa Loeb about her first album in four years with the upcoming ‘Cake And Pie.’ Loeb said of the new disc, “The goal was to make an album with a lot of variety because I think a lot of times the record industry encourages artists to make homogenous records. I worked with a number of producers including Dweezil Zappa, Randy Scruggs, Glen Ballard, and Peter Collins. There are acoustic songs, rock songs, rock solos, and big produced sounding songs on this album. There are also more personal experiences in the songs, although there is still a lot of storytelling.”
