Ousted ‘American Idol’ finalist Lisa Tucker was on the phone with KIIS FM’s Ryan Seacrest on Thursday (March 30). Tucker talked about the previous night, her return to school as an ‘Idol’ celebrity, her college plans, the support her friends have given her, her high school boyfriend, covering Kelly Clarkson, and more. With ‘American Idol’ judge Simon Cowell being pretty harsh with ousted contestant Lisa Tucker the past few weeks, EW.com asked the 16-year-old how she stood up there without bursting into tears. “It’s not worth it,” she said. “That’s the way I look at it. This is just a person like me, like anyone. Everyone has their own opinion. There could be someone sitting at home thinking, Oh, she’s horrible. Billboard reports that Canadian singer/songwriter Daniel Powter earned his first No. 1 on the U.S. pop singles chart Thursday as ‘Bad Day’ climbed one rung to the summit, swapping places with reggae star Sean Paul’s ‘Temperature’. His international hit had been languishing in the United States until ‘American Idol’ started playing ‘Bad Day’ every week, as underscore music to the video of the departing contestants on results shows.

The 23-year-old added that FOX is so upset with the content, they’ve called out their lawyers to threaten him.

March 30, 2006 – Former ‘American Idol’ finalist Kimberly Caldwell spoke with MTV News about her gig as co-host of the TV Guide Channel’s live pre-show ‘Idol Tonight’. “We have the entire audience, so we talk about each contestant, what’s going to happen this week,” Caldwell said. “We talk to experts, fashion designers, makeup, vocal coaches and then each one of their fans, and that’s where we get the crazy stuff. Asked if pressure was added to her after Simon Cowell called her the best 16-year-old the show had seen, Tucker responded, “My first inkling was, ‘Oh my God, thank you so much.’ I definitely knew there were going to be expectations, but whether he said it or not, I would have expectations for myself.
