Bert Padell, Madonna’s former finance manager whom she sacked in 1996, is giving details on working with the singer in a documentary on BBC this weekend. Padell reveals, “We had to fax to her every check that we wrote on a daily basis, and then she would look at it and call us to tell us that it was OK to send it out. Money was 100% driving force for her like it is for any artist. You must realize that if someone is not going to make money, there-s not going to be any driving force.”
The New York Post reports there may be a sex tape of Madonna and Vanilla Ice as the singer told Launch.com, “Her and I in a sex act? It could, could possibly, absolutely, it could possibly exist. It’s hard to say this – I got my friends, you know.” As for Madonna, her rep Liz Rosenberg told the Post, “I would take anything Vanilla Ice says about Madonna with a grain of salt. I think he has a huge imagination.”
Saturday Night Live last night used just about the same joke about Madonna that Conan used earlier this week during Weekend Update:

Madonna Seeks Psych For Jealous Pooch
November 9, 2001 – The New York Post reports Madonna reportedly seeked psychiatrist Shelby Marlow to help her Chihuahua, Chiquita get over jealousy issues following the birth of her daughter Lourdes. The shrink seems to have been effective as the dog and Lourdes are very close. In fact, she loves to kiss the dog and “dog” was one of her first words.
Madonna Doesn’t Take Bios Seriously
November 8, 2001 – Reuters talked to Madonna’s rep Liz Rosenberg about why the singer hasn’t responded to shocking allegations revealed in two different unauthorized biographies about her published this month. Liz says, “I think she probably feels that she has shown the world enough of herself over the years, and wants to keep the rest private.”
Conan O’Brien took shots at Jacko, Britney, and Madonna during his monologue on Wednesday. For Jackson, Conan joked, “According to The New York Post, every now and then — apparently this is true — Michael Jackson puts on a disguise and goes door to door as a Jehovah’s Witness. That’s true. Yeah, and apparently he puts on a disguise ’cause more people would rather let Jehovah’s Witnesses in their home than Michael Jackson.”
As for Britney, Conan said, “This is interesting. A radio station in Chicago has decided to change their photo contest from ‘Boobies Like Britney’ to ‘Bodies Like Britney.’ They changed it. True story. Yeah, apparently, when the contest was ‘Boobies Like Britney,’ people were sending in their plastic recycling.”
As for Madonna, Conan added, “I gotta mention this last thing… very exciting celebrity news. A new biography of Madonna came out this week. I know you’re all gonna buy it. And apparently, the biography lists all the men she slept with. Yeah. Yeah, apparently, the book is called The Manhattan Telephone Directory.”

November 8, 2001 – Jay Leno joked during his monologue Wednesday, “Hey, what’s the story with Michael Jackson? Joey, hand me that. Did you get TV Guide this week? You see this? Look at this picture. What color is he now? He’s not black. He’s, like, the color of a raw hot dog now. What is that?”
As for Madonna, Leno cracked, “Two new biographies about Madonna hit the bookstores today. That’s when you know you slept with a lot of people, when you need two books. That’s a lot, that’s a lot. November 8, 2001 – WENN reports Michael Jackson sounded off on people that call him “Wacko Jacko” saying, “That’s not nice. They do that because they’re jealous. I haven’t done anything. I go to hospitals and orphanages. And we take huge bags of toys. I spend thousands of dollars. What’s wacko about that? The press is just completely jealous. And it’s just one of those things that I have to deal with.”

November 1, 2001 – Katrillion reports the mayor of Frankfurt, Germany has temporarily renamed streets around the venue for the MTV Europe Awards on November 8. Bright-orange plastic signs bearing the names of stars including Britney Spears, U2, Janet Jackson, Madonna and Robbie Williams will remain on top of the city’s real street signs until November 10.

October 16, 2001 – The Scottish Daily Record reports U.K. rocker Aphex Twin told the paper he almost got Madonna to make “stupid noises. . . just grunts, moans and pig impersonations” on his upcoming album, Drukqs, due out October 23.
AT says she almost agreed to do it but that she backed out at the last minute, “Maybe she would have done it, but at the time she was more concerned with her next single.”
According to today’s column by MSNBC’s Jeannette Walls, the last man causing Madonna to have an abortion was already revealed in January by the London Daily Mail. Madonna reportedly got pregnant with Andy Bird, a would-be British filmmaker she dated before she met Guy Ritchie.

According to insiders, time between takes is being spent making up fake lyrics to Britney Spears songs like “Poops! I Sh** It Again!” Also, Madonna is referred to as ‘M’ on the set.
According to the New York Post, Madonna’s unauthorized biography by Barbara Victor entitled “Goddess” has shocking details about Madge. According to the book, Madonna has had 11 abortions, including one just before she met husband Guy Ritchie which Victor would only reveal is “a British man” before the release of the book.
Also revealed were that, according to a pal, Ritchie’s parents “Believed that Madonna deliberately got pregnant. This was not some teenage girl who didn’t know how to use birth control!”
Since the two have married, Ritchie’s father is said to have warmed to Madonna because of Rocco, but Lady Amber still seems to dislike her. A pal said the parents “Always envisioned he would marry someone more proper. They looked down on her because she is in show business, was 10 years older than him, and pregnant.”
Madonna’s former rep, Liz Rosenberg denied claims in the book saying, “The abortion issue is completely untrue. That she tricked Guy into marrying her is ridiculous. This is a love match, period. I was at the wedding and everyone got along beautifully.” HarperCollins says the book has been “thoroughly vetted by lawyers.”
