Mariah Carey Rushing To Make Her Brazil Concert On Time

checked in with her Twitter followers (@MariahCarey), apologizing for her delayed arrival at the Festa Do Peão de Boiadeiros in Barretos, Sao Paulo for a concert scheduled at midnight. The pop singer writes:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.. whateverrr.. Umm just got off the tarmac on a desolate road in Brazil right now trying 2 get 2 the show. SFL!.

“Do they have helicopters here?” (Said like Regina George in ‘Meangirls’ ala “is butter a carb?! LoL..uggh IG2P!

I really tried 2 b on time! Hopefully I still am. I never know cos I make management lie 2 me so I’m early(ish) but this is 2 much

Zack, and any other fans who were inconvenienced by me leaving out the back of the hotel today.. SORRY! I was told that was the exit!

Just now hairstylist (who shall remain nameless) abused me with a curling iron while trying to curl and dancing to my new song.. ow

I’m searching for some aloe or whatever but it’s not looking pretty.. it’s basically a welt.. Oh the trials and tribulations Divadom!

Now he’s all trying to put toothpaste on it and swears its a home remedy, I’m like “Stop crying, you’re NOT fired” lol

’s people offered a look at the most notable achievements, by the numbers, from her first 20 years of being a staple on the Billboard charts. Carey’s debut single ‘Vision of Love’ entered the Billboard Hot 100, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Adult Contemporary in the issue dated June 2, 1990. Among the stats:

64.5 million
Carey’s career U.S. album sales [as certified by the RIAA], since SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991, the highest sum among female artists. Celine Dion ranks second among women with sales of 51 million, followed by Shania Twain (33.9 million), Britney Spears (31.5 million) and Reba McEntire (29.3 million).

17.2 million
Carey’s career U.S. physical singles sales, according to SoundScan. Her best-selling single is “One Sweet Day,” with sales to date of 2,334,000.

13.8 million
Carey’s career U.S. digital song sales, according to SoundScan. Her most-downloaded track is “All I Want for Christmas is You,” with sales to date of 1,582,000.

has posted footage from the studio where she’s joined by Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox and Randy Jackson during a songwriting session in Los Angeles for new material for her upcoming album. “We gonna be making history up in here on the album,” Randy said of the project. “Me, B.Cox, Jermaine, Mariah, of course. It’s gonna be on Mariah’s album! And several people we won’t mention yet and a concept we can’t discuss.” Watch the clip via UStream below.

Mariah Carey And Nick Cannon Celebrate Second Wedding Anniversary

The prior day, Nick felt the urge to call up Life & Style on his radio show after seeing the tabloid’s latest cover indicating the couple had a “sex starved marriage”. Nick told his Twitter followers (@NickCannon):

and husband Nick Cannon attended The 82nd Annual Academy Awards at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday (March 7). Check out pictures from zimbio.

Mariah was in attendance along with other stars of ‘Precious’, which was up for Best Picture, an award that went to ‘The Hurt Locker’. While Nick got ready in the last 5 minutes, Carey confessed to USA Today her attire was a bit more complicated. “I could do my own hair and makeup because I’m a beauty school dropout but I don’t,” she said.
