Plaintiff’s Lawyer Speaks Out Over Mario Vazquez/’Idol’ Lawsuit

Magdaleno Olmos’ attorney Matt Matern tells ‘Access Hollywood’ that ‘’ producers offered his client their support following his claim that season four drop-out sexually harassed him. The attorney claimed the ‘Idol’ support may have led to Vazquez’s mysterious departure from the show’s Top 12 in 2005. “I believe it (Vazquez’s departure) was not voluntary in any way shape or form,” Matern speculated. “There were meetings held on that same day with the executives Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick, with my client and with the attorneys for ‘’. They asked my client what had happened. Then I believe they interviewed Mr. Vazquez that same day, brought my client back in for a second interview and [I'm told], Nigel Lythgoe, put his arm around my client and said, ‘we know that this happened and we are going to let Mario Vazquez go, and you’re going to stay.’”

Mario Vazquez Performs For High School That Gave Back

‘’ season four drop-out checked in with fans on his blog at Myspace on Wednesday, making no mention of the sexual harrassment suit filed against him by Magdaleno Olmos. “What’s up, my people?! I just wanted to take this moment to congratulate Peekskill High School for winning the Z100/Ronald McDonald house contest,” Vazquez writes. “All the people who were involved in doing community service for their neighborhood should be very proud of themselves. I always say that you should give back, and the students of Peekskill High School did it in a big way! They accumulated the most hours of community service in the tri-state area than any other h.s. In return, they received an exclusive performance by me. These kids were so pumped!! I have to say that was one of the best times I’ve had performing. BTW, I’ll have some pics up on myspace from the event. Just goes to show that people do care about giving back to their community. It’s all up to you to volunteer your time and make a difference. Mario Vazquez ‘Doesn’t Even Remember’ Sexual Harassment Accuser

Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com weighed in on news ‘’ season four drop-out is facing sexual harassment charges from former ‘Idol’ employee Magdaleno Olmos. Friedman writes, “Two years have passed since Vazquez left the show. You would think that if Olmos had a beef with Mario or ‘’, he would have said something a long time ago. The fact is: Mario Vazquez doesn’t even remember Magdaleno Olmos. ‘’ season four drop-out checked in with fans on his blog at Myspace on March 6th. “First off, I have to say that the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah was off da’ hook,” he writes. “It was my first time attending and now I’m hooked. Everybody, and I mean everybody was there from Justin Timberlake promoting his new film to Akon & Pharrel doing a surprise performance at Harry O’s. And that’s just a few names! I made sure to get my groove on as well by promoting my brand new single, ‘One Shot’, interviewing with AOL Black Voices & VH1′s showstoppers, and viewing a ton of independent movies. Mario Vazquez Accused Of Sexually Harassing Male ‘Idol’ Employee

TMZ has learned former ‘’ finalist is being accused of trying to masturbate in front of a male employee in a bathroom on the set of the hit FOX show in February 2005. After the incident, Vazquez mysteriously dropped out of ‘Idol’, citing personal reasons. The man who is making the allegations in a lawsuit, Magdaleno Olmos, is an assistant accountant for Fremantle Media, the company that produces ‘Idol’. “Vazquez stared lasciviously, smiled lasciviously,” Olmos claimed in the lawsuit documents. “And on one occasion followed him into a bathroom … knocked on the door of the plaintiff’s stall and made eye contact through the space in the stall door.” Read more, and check out the court documents, here.
