Maroon 5 keyboardist-guitarist Jesse Carmichael spoke with NewsOK.com about the band getting help from Mutt Lange on their third album ‘Hands All Over’. “He really pushed us more than anybody else has ever pushed us,” Carmichael said. “He’d made a lot of classic records, and I think we all sort of came to the table with this sort of respect for him and the stories we’d heard about how meticulous he was and the incredible success that he’s had as a producer and as a songwriter and as a musician and singer.”
Jesse also talked about working with Lady Antebellum on the album and how frontman Adam Levine’s role as a judge and mentor on NBC’s ‘The Voice’ has been “such a positive thing on so many different levels” for the band.
In an interview with UsMagazine.com, Adam Levine was asked how his Maroon 5 bandmates feel about him being a judge/mentor on the hit NBC reality singing program ‘The Voice’. “Everybody else loves it. They love it,” the tattooed singer insisted. “When we talked about doing it, it was a risk for sure. Everyone was really supportive and the band was so cool with it, and I think that everyone was hoping it would go exactly the way that it did. Obviously, we were lucky it wound up breaking out. Any time you do something like this you put yourself out there, you never know what’s gonna happen, but I always had my support from my brothers in the band, and it all worked.”
Maroon 5 are out with the music video to their new single ‘Moves Like Jagger’, featuring Christina Aguilera. The song was debuted on NBC’s ‘The Voice’, which Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine and Aguilera serve as judges and mentors. ‘Moves Like Jagger’ is featured on the re-release of Maroon 5’s third studio album, ‘Hands All Over’.
“Always great to see Jonas Akerlund,” Aguilera said regarding the video’s director in a message to her Twitter followers during the shooting of the music video. “He created the perfect feel for the song. Expect a fun video.”
“We were lucky enough to get Mick’s endorsement [for the video], as far as him giving us access to a bunch of different footage that’s so cool,” Levine told MTV News on the set of the video. “Not many people have seen [it], especially a newer generation of people that don’t know so much about how incredible he was.”
