Alex Roots updated fans on her blog at MySpace (@alexrootsmusic) on Thursday (April 23), talking about her experience opening for McFly in Wolverhampton on Tuesday night. The 16-year-old pop singer writes:
So after my radio interview me and the gang (Gary, Dad, Justine) (<— VERY GLAMOROUS ENTOURAGE!) went and had some lunch and then made our way to Wolverhampton Civic Hall! It was crazy, there were some die hard fans who had been camping all night so that they could get a spot right at the front! I got my little McFly badge (which I am keeping forever by the way) and went into the venue where McFly were sound checking! I NEARLY CRIED, IT WAS LIKE A PRIVATE SHOW!!!! I got so over excited by the fact that McFly were so close performing to me... (WELL PROB NOT TO ME, PROBABLY TO THE VERY IMPORTANT MEMBERS OF THEIR TEAM WHO DEAL WITH THE SOUND... BUT I AM GOING TO CHOOSE TO IGNORE THAT!) that I took a photo and nearly got removed from the Hall.. Oh dear, not a good start for the Roots team I admit, but what can a gal do hey? So I went to my dressing room ... I had to walk past McFly's dressing room to get to mine! Did my sound Check and Danny watched the whole time (NO PRESSURE) Got changed and before I did my slot I went and met the band in their dressing room... They were such nice Guys and wished me the best of luck and said that they would try and watch from the side :)

McFly frontman Tom Fletcher checked in with fans on the British pop rock group’s blog at MySpace (@mcfly) on Sunday (March 15) as the band closes out its tour of Australia. Fletcher tells readers:
Thanks to everyone who came to see us today in Sydney. I apologize for my technical problems with my guitar… I suck so much that I couldn’t work out what the problem was… turns out the battery had run out in my pedal, schoolboy error!
Anyways, apart from that we had a kick arse show. Sad that it’s the last show we’ll be playing in Australia on this trip but we’ll try and come back as soon as!
Right, I’m in the studio while Dougie is recording some bass… well, we’re meant to be recording but so far we eaten 2 pizzas and a picnic bar and talked rubbish for an hour. But we WILL get some recording done soon!

We’re all back from holidays now, Harry [Judd] was the last one home and wins hands down for being the most tanned band member over the Christmas holiday! It’s good having everyone home and we’re all ready to get stuck into the year a head… which is getting more busy by the second! But we’re super excited about all the international shows we’re getting to do this year!… and we won’t forget you lovely English folk!
Dougie [Poynter] became the first McFly member to be my passenger when I took him flying a few days ago. Was awesome. Not sure if I told you guys but I got my pilots license just before the tour last year so been flying whenever I get some time off.
