I just got back from Vegas about an hour ago… I lost some money but I didn’t lose my self respect, as I saw MANY people there who did… haha!)

It was overall a pretty nice time… I went with my sister, and we mostly laid out in the sun and people watched… Good times… On the way home, the air-conditioner broke and we had to spend the whole 7 hours sweating in bumper-to-bumper traffic… Sexy…

I swear, I must have at least 50 new songs written, and I’m in the process of figuring out which ones will be the best for my next album…

I’ve had the opportunity to write with some really talented people this time around – it’s a new experience for me, writing with other people, but I LOVE it!

I’m hoping to get into the studio to start recording the next album some time this month – woo hoo!! If you liked the last album, I have a feeling you’re gonna love the new one. I’m SO excited about these new songs!!!!

Hey there long lost MySpacers!

Just saying hey as I slack off on packing / cleaning my apartment. I leave for SXSW tomorrow morning and I’m soooo excited!! It is my favorite time of year… Friends, BBQ, Beer, music… What more could you ask for???? I’m playing sooooo many shows. Here’s hoping I stay healthy and soberish.

I’m really hungry now.

I feel like it’s been raining here forever!! What happened to LA having the best weather all the time? I guess for this to be the worst I’ve seen in 8 years …it’s not too bad!)

Mannnnn- I’ve been really busy… Besides being super-excited about this new record…. There is a lot of work involved! Can you believe it??? I’ve been writing my arse off. Hopefully it will pay off and I can buy a car with working door handles… Ahhhhh the dream.

I am hoping to have a new record by this summer, and if not by then, definitely before the end of the year.

My friend suggested that a Strip-O-Gram would make me feel better. I agreed. She asked me some specifics and told me to be home on Sunday between 10-12pm.

The more and more I think about it- I freak out…

I’ve invited my sister over for breakfast that day…

I have no idea what’s gonna happen.

I’d feel safer with a Hug-O-Gram or flowers but who knows…
Maybe this stripper WILL make me feel better…

but if she tries to rob me- I will knock her ass out with the frying pan.

Meiko updated fans on her blog at MySpace on Thursday (September 10), revealing that her recent hospitalization could have sent her in financial peril had she not paid her health insurance bill on time. The singer songwriter tells readers:

I’m sitting here at home watching Sicko by Michael Moore and and its actually making me a little sick. These stories are so sad.

Can you believe that 1 month before I had my “Brain Pain” I had just reinstated my health insurance?

I go through a company called Tonik.com and I missed a few bills… My friend Mike 4100 was like “duuuude- don’t let this slide- because when you do- thats when you’re gonna need it!”

Sooooo- I handled it, almost a month later is when I had to go to the hospital for a dilated ventricle in my brain. Woah.

So yesterday- I got the bill for it saying the total cost was $100,000.00, But insurance had covered the full amount…

I just felt like I needed to tell you this, thats all. I feel very lucky to have health insurance and damn if I ever miss a bill again! HAHA!

Do you make eye contact with people in the audience when performing?

Not often… I usually just find a wall to stare at!

Does Meiko have time to grab a drink in Portland next time she’s up here…?

Meiko doesn’t drink with strangers… But she does indeed LOVE Portland- and beer.

I’ve been to several of your shows… and I don’t think I’ve ever seen you use a pick.. do you use? Or do you just have magic strumming thumbs and fingers?

It’s true- I never use a pick… They’re hard to keep up with!

To be completely honest with you guys… I was in the hospital this past week. I had a dilated ventricle in my brain, that made me pass out while having lunch with my sister…

So I checked into Cedar Sinai in LA to get fixed.

And now that I have a new brain I’ve been killing it at Jeopardy every night.
