‘Briwi’ Natasha Bedingfield Checks In From New Zealand

updated fans on her blog at MySpace on Friday (January 2) after taking part in ‘Dick Clark Rockin’ New Years Eve’. The pop singer tells readers:

I’m in New Zealand now. I’m here for a couple of weeks to do a bit of writing. It is such an inspiring place to write music. I love coming here as often as I can, usually once a year to fuel up on ideas for my next album.

All of my family is here. Although I was born and brought up in the UK (the reason I have a London accent), I have always felt a deep sense of belonging in New Zealand. This is the reason I have ended up calling myself a briwi – a British kiwi.

London was always my home and I love it so much but New Zealand is my country of origin and when I’m here if feels like I get in touch with a deeper part of myself. I like to stick my bare feet in the sand and let the ocean breeze mess up my hair. I love to go fishing with my grandad, to find out secret recipes from my two nana’s, discuss life and spirituality with my other grandad. Just to be still and breath in the spectacular nature moving and alive all around.

Natasha Bedingfield Is Thankful

Natasha Bedingfield in a tank top

updated fans on her blog at MySpace on Saturday (December 13) with a lengthy post ahead of the holidays, thanking radio as she winds down the radio tour stops, and just about everyone else. The British pop singer tells readers:

I guess all the Xmas stuff around – the carols, the reminders to buy gifts, the Xmas movies – are starting to rub off their magic on me. It’s making me want to be grateful and thankful.

Everyone I know can’t wait for their work year to end so they can have a much deserved break. The economy is low and it sucks because most people deserve so much more especially when we have worked so hard all year.

I hope these holidays can be for you all a time of regrouping, and refreshing. A little gap from the craziness. A time to remember our blessings.
I feel the urge right now to be thankful.

- I am thankful for where I am today.
- For what the journey has taught me so far.
- To all my fans
- For my family and close friends.
- For the fact that history has been made during my life.
- The first black president is certainly something I feel proud to be witnessing..
- I want to thank and honor all the people in my team for being such steadfast support. My band, Das Management, Wilhelmina models, CAA, EMI, my co-writers, Epic Records, as well as every other department of my record company SonyBMG, particularly my radio peeps, you guys work so passionately.
- Thank u to the tv shows that plugged my record this year. NBC, Ellen, the Today show, American Idol, AMAs, Lipstick Jungle, Chelsea Lately, Craig Ferguson, Jay Leno, Regis and Kelly, MTV, VH1, The Batcherlorette, ABC, Degrassi, Nickelodeon, Lipstick Jungle (I’m on it tonight by the way), Fashion Rocks.

Also
Clear Channel, Verizon, Live Nation, NFL,
Thanks to all those back in UK who are holding down the fort, keeping the coals burning while I’ve been away.

Natasha Bedingfield Reacts To Barack Obama Victory

checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace on Wednesday (November 5), reacting to the election of Barack Obama as the 44th U.S. President last night. The British pop singer writes:

It is amazing to be in America at such a historic moment. Most of the people I know in the UK felt Obama was the best choice. It’s a choice that really does effect the rest of the world.

I was up late watching it on TV. The news that Obama won was just the best ever. His speech was inspirational, as all his speeches are. It’s what we need in the world right now.

I was also very touched by McCain’s speech giving his support to the future president – he was gracious.

I am so excited that Obama won, he makes me believe in having hope.

-Natasha

No date has been picked out, but she didn’t want to talk about location or how big the wedding would be. Not wanting to talk about personal subjects led to talk about another personal subject – bathroom habits on the tour bus. They then moved on to accents, with Natasha saying she misses people trying to imitate her accent when she heads back home. Natasha also performed ‘Pocketful of Sunshine’, a bit of ‘Purple Rain’ by Prince, and wrapped up her visit with a performance of ‘Wild Horses’.

Natasha Bedingfield Is Missing Her Fiance

Natasha Bedingfield

checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace on Sunday (September 28) while on tour. The British singer songwriter talked a bit about her fiance Matt Robinson, telling fans:

I miss my fiancĂ©… Oh yeah by the way if you didn’t know already I got engaged!!! All my friends have been finding out about my news from pictures of me and my sparkly ring on the Calvin Klein red carpet.

You may ask ‘Why do I miss Matt right now?’ Well, he is presently hiking his way to the Everest base camp with my mum who is going to be sky diving really soon. Only about a week now to go till she takes the plunge. I am really glad he is out there with her to make sure she is safe and also to film it so we all get to view the journey later.
