Canada’s Metro magazine spoke with Nick Carter, where the singer talked about the Backstreet Boys still going strong 15 years after their formation, despite the departure of Kevin Richardson. “It was a little difficult at first, but we were cool with it,” the 28-year-old said. “(Kevin) moved on and so have we. We’re comfortable with what we do as four and it’s still just as strong. Competitive spirit that’s just in every single one of us, and to be the best that we can be as a team, as a group and musically, we feel that what we stand for is honesty and purity in great music that people love.”

Following news Jane Carter was arrested last week in Sumter County, Florida for failing to appear in a Florida court for a hearing about her divorce from John Holcomb, her son Nick Carter spoke to UsMagazine.com about the situation. “I love my mother and offer her my full support in these unfortunate circumstances,” Carter said.
A friend of the Backstreet Boys star said that Nick’s relationship with his mother has improved from 2005, where he and brother Aaron cut her out of their lives over concerns she was more interested in their money than being a mother. “He’s been mending his relationship with his mom for quite some time and that he is in such a healthy, productive place in his life, looking better than ever,” the pal explained. An expose by Vanity Fair is claiming *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys’ former manager Lou Pearlman, currently in a Florida jail awaiting trial on bank fraud charges, was a pedophile who preyed on the young men he mentored. Steve Mooney, an aspiring singer who was Pearlman’s assistant, said that a singer groped by Pearlman told him, “Look, if a guy wants to massage me, and I’m getting a million dollars for it, you just go along with it. It’s the price you got to pay.” Phoenix Stone, an early member of the Backstreet Boys, added that Pearlman was “definitely inappropriate” with Nick Carter. Read more.
