Owl City Quite Humbled By ‘Fireflies’ Success

Owl City

Owl City checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace (@owlcity) on Friday (March 5), offering an update on the ‘Ocean Eyes Deluxe Edition’ release, Twitter, and his appreciation for the fans. The ‘Fireflies’ singer writes:

I can never say this enough, so I’ll keep on saying it until the cows come home. My house is pretty hard to find, so I hope the aforementioned cows have access to a sweet GPS, but at any rate: I would like to say thank you.

I am a shy, small town boy with big dreams and you’ve made them become reality. You’ve even made “Fireflies” the 24th most downloaded song of all time on iTunes! I blush a lot these days. Words can’t describe the immense gratitude I feel — and it’s quite humbling. I am honored to be allowed to do what I do and I’m indescribably grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given. PTL!

Owl City Awestruck By ‘Fireflies’ Hitting #1 In The UK For 3 Weeks

Owl City 'Maybe I'm Dreaming'

Owl City (Adam Young) checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace (@owlcity) on Wednesday (February 10), discussing the success of his ‘Fireflies’ single in the UK, tour plans, Haiti relief efforts, the ‘Ocean Eyes’ Deluxe Edition, and fan videos. Young writes:

I’m awestruck. “Fireflies” is the #1 song in the UK for a third week running, and you guys went and did it again: every single show in the United Kingdom has sold out… I have no words for the overwhelming gratitude I feel for such a warm welcome.

We’re just wrapping up our Winter tour here in the States, and I’m so excited to spend the next few months in new places (ah… Europe!) with new shining faces (ah… people in Europe!). Be sure to come out and say “oh, hey!”

In the Spring, I’ll be back in the US once again with Lights, Paper Route, and a few special friends along the way. Tickets are still available to some of those shows (what’s up, Salt Lake City?!), so get yours today before they all find other owners!

Adam Young Beyond Speechless At Fan Support & Kindness

Owl City

Owl City’s Adam Young checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace (@owlcity) on Thursday (January 14), talking about the breakout success he’s enjoyed thanks to ‘Fireflies’ and upcoming tour plans. The synthpop artist writes:

I can’t even to being to express how amazed I am at the way music transcends distance and takes every type of “formula” for success and flushes it down the loo… in the most weird and awkward-semi-romantic way possible. What I mean to say is that I’m overwhelmed with joy to be allowed such opportunities to visit places I NEVER dreamed I’d EVER have the chance to see… and to show up and hear people singing the words to songs that came from my heart and soul in a little town in chilly Minnesota?!?! I find myself changing my diapers constantly.

All that to say, I am left far beyond speechless at your support and kindness. I’ve said it all before, but please allow me to reiterate: Silent gratitude isn’t much use to anyone so I’d like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You encourage me in more ways than I know how to describe. I treasure you all.
