Phil Bensen Won’t Be Playing At Bamboozle

Phil Bensen updated fans on his blog at MySpace (@philbensen) on Wednesday (April 29), talking about how he won’t be taking part in Bamboozle festival this weekend, except as a spectator. Bensen writes:

So a lot of you guys have asked if I was playing Bamboozle. Well, actually I’m not going to be playing this year. They’re not having an acoustic stage this year, and I don’t have a band so it would be weird doing a solo electric show haha. But, I will be there. I may make a cameo with a band for all you dreamers out there. But come say hello. I can’t wait for you guys to hear the new album.

I’ll be touring a ton this year.

So week 2 in la la land was quite eventful. We laid drums down on all the songs. I must say, they sound really amazing. The album is shaping up to be what I intended it to be. Kenton ( just turned 19 and for his birthday, I destroyed him in soccer on Xbox all day haha. So, today I’m finishing lyrics on some songs. Writer’s block sucks! Anyway, I’ll see you guys soon, thanks so much for the support.

Phil Bensen Heads To LA To Begin Work On Debut Album

Phil Bensen checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace (@philbensen) on Wednesday (February 18), talking about his trek from New Jersey to Los Angeles to begin work on his debut album. The singer songwriter tells readers:

Well I’m heading to LA tomorrow to record my first full length album. I’m very pumped. I’ll be working with a producer named Matt Wallace. He produced Maroon 5’s ‘Songs About Jane’, so I’m in good hands. You can expect new songs and new versions of old songs like bruised. I’m going to stay true to what I love doing. The album will be sort of a mix between funky stuff like Maroon 5 and more acoustic John Mayer/Jack Johnson sort of stuff. Wish me luck, I’ll need it. Thanks so much for everyone’s support. See you on the flip side (only cool people say stuff like “see you on the flip side”).
