Reinvention has been done by a lot of artists nowadays in order to refresh their image or rejuvenate their ailing careers. Some artists have been successful and some have failed miserably. Probably there isn’t a single artist out there who really mastered reinvention but this hasn’t prevented newer artists to brave new territories to seek greater success.
Rob Thomas talked with ‘Today’ correspondent David Gregory about the success of his first solo album, and his two Grammy nominations. Then, the matchbox twenty singer performed ‘A New York Christmas’ as part of the ‘Toyota Concert Series on Today’.

Rob Thomas recently phoned in to talk with Kyle and Jackie O., where he addressed rumors that he doesn’t get along with Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. He stated, “I was doing an interview and I had said that I thought Paris Hilton and her friends were horrible people. It came out that I thought that Paris Hilton and Nick Carter were horrible people and I felt very badly because I don’t think badly of Nick Carter. Us Weekly spoke with matchbox twenty singer Rob Thomas about his new single ‘Ever The Same’, and its video which features his wife Marisol and actor Wilmer Valderrama. “Basically, the song says, ‘If you need me, I’m here’,” Thomas said. “It was the quickest I have ever written a song. It just came out. So it was really special to us.” And why did Wilmer sign on to be in the video? “When I was learning to speak English, his CD was one of the first purchases I ever made,” said Valderrama, who moved to Los Angeles from Venezuela in 1994. “I was able to sing in English because of his songs, so you know I’m a fan.”
