Sarah Jaffe is out with the music video to her new single ‘Lover Girl’, off the Denton, Texas singer songwriter’s latest album, ‘Don’t Disconnect’, released earlier this month on Kirtland Records. Jaffe further explores sounds and textures that reach far beyond her more acoustic beginnings on the McKenzie Smith produced track. Watch the Jason M. Reimer directed video via YouTube below.
Sarah Jaffe announced a fall US tour with alternative hip-hop artist Astronautalis. The trek begins at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall on September 5th and continues with stops in NYC, Nashville, DC, Philly, St. Louis, Boston and more along the way. They will visit mostly East Coast and Midwest cities while Jaffe’s July run with The Polyphonic Spree hits the West Coast and South. In addition, just last week Jaffe announced a hometown headlining show at Dallas’ historic Majestic Theatre on August 23rd. This will be Jaffe’s biggest local show to date in support of her third full-length studio album ‘Don’t Disconnect’.
When asked about touring with Astronautalis, Jaffe said, “I first met Andy when we were grouped together for a Denton event called Rock Lottery. That was about 8 years ago. We were friends immediately. I was a fan of him personally instantly. Then I saw him perform live and realized he was a genius… He’s the coolest.”

Folk newcomer Sarah Jaffe offered her own interpretation of Robyn’s ‘Hang With Me’ for this week’s Mashup Monday on Billboard.com.
“There were a lot of favorites that rotated,” Jaffe said about the Swedish artist’s ‘Body Talk’ series. “But ‘Hang With Me’ just kind of stuck. I just love that song. The chorus in particular, the way I heard it, I thought it could make a really sweet and kind of sad folk song. The chords are easy and I like really simple chords that allow the vocal melody to carry the song.”
Watch it below. The Denton, Texas native released her debut full-length album ‘Suburban Nature’ last year and is currently touring in support of the release across the country on a tour that runs through August.
