Skye Sweetnam visited ‘MTV Live’ in Toronto, Ontario on October 30th, promoting her sophomore album ‘Sound Soldier’.
Skye talked about working with The Matrix, insisting on sounding different, getting along great with collaborator Tim Armstrong of Rancid on the record, having an album out on the same day as Britney Spears and touring with the troubled pop tart, where she experienced a guy walking around bumming smokes off people – Kevin Federline, and the unlikely tempo on ‘Make-Out Song’.

CTV’s ‘eTalk’ caught up with Skye Sweetnam in a classroom, where the Canadian singer-songwriter talked about returning with her just released album ‘Sound Soldier’. Skye talked about the long break between albums, connecting in Los Angeles with Rancid’s Tim Armstrong and The Matrix, why she named the disc ‘Sound Soldier’, making her clothes, the ‘Human’ video, tour plans, having an album out the same day as Britney Spears, touring with her, and more. eTalk at ctv.ca has since removed the video.

She talked about her Irish ancestory, growing up listening to Enya, getting discovered in her grandmother’s hair salon, the ‘Billy S’ single, her debut album, and co-writing with James Robertson. She also performed ‘Number One’. The site has since shut down.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports Ryan Cabrera and Skye Sweetnam were in 10pin doing a photo shoot for Rolling Stone magazine this week and signed autographs for fans in the bowling lounge.

When Britney Spears cancelled her summer tour due to a knee injury, her opening act, 16-year-old Canadian newcomer Skye Sweetnam, who is set to release her debut album in September, was dealt a major blow. “It was disappointing [when Britney hurt her knee] because we had this whole media hype behind the tour,” Sweetnam told The Associated Press. “It would have worked well for a lead up for my album.”
