Every week until the release of Sofia Talvik’s new album ‘Jonestown’, the Swedish singer songwriter is inviting a new guest artist to perform one of my songs with her.
“Christian Kjellvander is among the great songwriters of this world. He was signed to Startracks in 1996,” Talvik said of this week’s collaborator. “He was a great songwriter back then and it’s been great seeing him grow as years went by.”

Sofia Talvik teamed up with Sara Rumar to perform ‘Prove Me Wrong’, off Sofia’s third album ‘Jonestown’, out August 27th. The performance continues Sofia’s series where the Swedish singer songwriter gathered 12 of her favorite fellow Swede artists, who each performed one song from the album live with Talvik.
“Sara and I met when we were both summer temps at one of Sweden’s largest newspapers,” Talvik writes on her MySpace blog. “We discovered our common interest for music and soon gained the nickname ‘The Glittertwins’ in the office.”

For The Eardrums caught up with Sofia Talvik and asked the singer/songwriter what has helped create a buzz for her outside of her native Sweden. “As I said, there’s a female singer/songwriter-hype going on right now,” she said. “I think people in general has opened their eyes and discovered a whole new genre. But the genre is actually quite old and some people, perhaps those who have found me earlier, have always listened to this kind of music. I think riding the wave of a hype is just one way to see it. The other is that I finally decided to give his a real try, not hiding in my chamber anymore.”
