After crashing in Thalia’s album launch party, and stealing all the attention from her former pal and which was entitled “a slap in the face,” Paulina Rubio strikes back at Thalia who said on a TV show that Paulina tried to stole her show and that she would never crash into other singers album releases, saying “I attended her party because her people invited me, and I though it was cool to support her”… “but now I see she is not as cool as she seems”… “or maybe she is mad because both of my single and album are at number one in Billboard”…”if she got so ofended with my presence, I apologize right now.”
Univision.com reports that according to Thalia, her good friend Jennifer Lopez will be the first celebrity to have an interview featured in the Thalia’s magazine due out in March. According to the famous Mexican Maxime Woodside, who has one of the biggest and most credible radio shows in Mexico, Thalía filed for divorce from her husband Tommy Mottola. Everything happened in Cristina’s Saralegui’s house, where the couple was spending Christmas. Thalía had too much to drink and Tommy wanted to take her home. Both argued and after that she went alone to Aspen and he flew somewhere else. (Both were seen in Aspen but no pictures were ever published). During the months of April, May, August and September, Thalía had health problems associated with exhaustion. Read more.
Update: A source who spoke with Tommy Mottola this week tells popdirt.com that the music mogul and wife Thalia have been laughing about Maxime Woodside’s report about a marriage split since Christmas, but now that word is circulating and it’s being reported on Univision, he’s very serious about viewing it as libel that should not be repeated. But our source added that he’s been told the couple do argue all the time.
Thalia is set to be be dropped from her American record contract, however her Spanish one is still intact. Thalia’s album, “Thalia,” flopped and it seemed she would become a one hit wonder. Thalia’s second release, “Baby I’m In Love,” barely made an impact and her third single was pulled from airways. Currently, Thalia is recording new Spanish material. But as a bid to save her U.S. fame, she recorded an EP, “Back for More.” The first single, “Not Forgotten,” will be shipped to airwaves in spring 2004. Read on for the EP’s tracklisting.

As for Mariah, she continued to have fun with a group of friends and didn’t seem to care at all.
The New York Post hears that Tommy Mottola and both his current wife Thalia and ex-wife Mariah Carey will be in Aspen over the holidays, keeping their distance.
Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com reports Tommy Mottola is ponying up $300,000 for three issues of a magazine all about his wife Thalia. Mottola is underwriting half the budget – a total of $600,000 will be spent – at American Media group. Mottola, through his assistant, said, “That’s a months-old rumor and it isn’t true.” American Media’s David Pecker, however, confirmed the whole thing to Friedman on Monday. Read more.

Every time I read the names of the following recording stars and once-stars on Popdirt, because they’re the ones I love to love, love to hate, simply love or once loved. Since Christmas is just around the corner, I’ve decided to declare a truce (read: I won’t say anything bad on those I hate and used to love until after Christmas) and make my Christmas wishes for the following:
*Madonna – that she’ll get rid of Mirwais and her association with Britney Spears, do melodic songs like she used to, stick to her mature, ideal mother image and act her age.
