The New York Daily News reports Vanessa Carlton, who just signed with Irv Gotti’s new venture with Universal Motown Records, is now to be called “V” instead of Vanessa. “V is an old family nickname of Vanessa’s, and Irv thought it was a practical decision to use it,” explained an insider. “Vanessa says V has always been her name, so it’s not really a name change.” But considering ‘High School Musical’ star Vanessa Hudgens just released her debut album ‘V’, it may cause confusion.
