PopstarOnline.com had the opportunity to attend Varsity Fanclub’s showcase in Los Angeles. The guys filmed an intro clip for the band before the set that included ‘Zero’, ‘Maybe This Is Love’, ‘Lost Then Found’ and other songs off their self-titled debut album. Jayk Purdy of Varsity Fanclub experienced a “surgery scare” after a medical trip to Las Vegas, but after a few aspirin those puffy cheeks returned to normal and the boy bander was okay. “I can do photo shoots,” a relieved Purdy joked. Watch the video below.
Katie and Karleigh sat down with Varsity Fanclub in Los Angeles, minus Thomas Fiss, talking with the boy band about their CD getting pushed back to help do an international release and add a few tracks. The guys also shared who they felt had the best hair and smile, who’s the funniest and most gullible, who’s the shyest and who is the biggest flirt. Watch the interview below.
Jayk Purdy checked in with fans on Varsity Fanclub’s YouTube channel, talking about fan interest in the boy band. Jayk said he was “sick of that” and instead wanted to interview the group’s dog Winston. The pooch said he’s been “eating, chillin. I’m just gonna relax and take a lot of poops.” Watch the video below.

So I just got back from the gym and it’s yet another rainy day in Los Angeles.. Don’t get me wrong I love the rain but I swear it’s been monsoon season in L.A. for the past month haha.. Well, anyways I was driving back to the house and started thinking who would be a cool artist or band to go on a tour with.. I had a few ideas but I really wanna know who you all would like to see us with on tour.. So ya let us know, we always love your opinions! Later

Varsity Fanclub posted archived footage featuring the boy band on their tour bus, joined by Secondhand Serenade’s John Vesely and his apparent girlfriend Christina. They were headed to the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey, where both acts performed for the PST Fest last September. Watch the video below.
Jayk Purdy, who was suffering from a cold, and his Varsity Fanclub bandmate Drew Ryan Scott made Valentine’s Day phone calls to winners, recording it on their YouTube channel.
Varsity Fanclub are set to perform a free show at SIR Studios on Sunset Blvd on Monday (February 9), but fans are required to RSVP. Fans will also be getting free stuff. Check out the message they recorded for Popstar! magazine below.
Drew Ryan Scott of Varsity Fanclub checked in with fans talking about how he’ll be twittering the “word of the day” a la Pee Wee Herman, and is wanting fans to “go to some random location, and videotape you getting some random person working at some place to say the word of the day… when they say it, you go crazy.” Drew demonstrated the concept with a couple friends, going to Quizno’s and getting the person working there to say “chocolate”. Jayk Purdy of Varsity Fanclub and his buddy Michaelangelo got together to watch Sunday’s Super Bowl, munching on Doritos and not feeling too happy about the Arizona Cardinals losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers after a last minute go ahead touchdown.
