Tough Odds For A Whitney Houston Comeback

Ken Barnes of USA Today spoke with music fans on Tuesday including one who wanted to know if he felt could recover from her numerous problems and recovery as a top rate musician. “It’ll be tough after the last album failed to ignite with an across-the-board hit,” Barnes responded. “Her media encounters haven’t really helped. She may well have passed over into the Michael Jackson/Courtney Love zone, where she’s better known as a freako celebrity than a world-class singer. Sad, really.” Read more.

And when I say take care of yourself, that means get in touch with the spirit; have a talk with God. You could go through bunch of therapy sessions but none of that will clean the dirty seeds in your soul, God will do [that] and when he does, you’ll get healed for good. Everybody makes bad judgments and I surely did a lot of them. The bottom line is you’ve just got to get out of that experience with a lesson.”

The September 28th episode of ‘Dateline NBC’ reveals why Whitney has been going to the promised land and reporters talk to a man who claimed to have sold Houston drugs. Kevin Skinner, a former business partner of Whitney’s dad, told ‘Dateline’s’ Hoda Kotb that he sold Houston and Brown drugs and witnessed them using.

Whitney Houston Confronts Police

The Associated Press reports angrily confronted officers as her husband, Bobby Brown, was arrested outside a seafood restaurant in Alpharetta, Georgia, police said. “She was outwardly frustrated. She was upset. She was yelling and screaming and pointing fingers at one of our officers,” Sgt. Chris Lagerbloom said of the singing star. “We deal with emotions like that from family members all the time. To say that she was calm about it would be a misstatement.”

Cleaned Up Whitney Houston Reportedly Pregnant

WENN reports that friends are claiming that the good news of being pregnant, together with a spiritual trip to Israel with husband Bobby Brown, has helped Houston clean up her act. One pal says, “Whitney insists she has put all her drinking and drug problems behind her. She’s going to have to take really good care of herself to make sure she has a successful pregnancy. She seems dedicated.” Pals say Houston is expecting a birth in March.

Whitney Vs. The Beat

The Philadelphia Daily News reports 103.9 The Beat DJ Jonesy is under heat by and her lawyers after a comment on her “Jonesy in the A.M.” show. Houston’s attorney Marty Singer said Tuesday, “A claim has been made over comments [by Jonesy] about ’s family.” Jonesy hasn’t been on-air since July 10. The station says she’s on vacation. A source at 103.9 FM tells the Daily News that the remarks concerning Houston’s daughter and Houston’s brother were referencing a story that a tabloid was writing on the singer.

Whitney And Bobby Buy Home In Atlanta

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports and husband Bobby Brown have bought a home on an acre lot in Country Club of the South, the heavily guarded and gated country club community in Alpharetta, for $1.4 million. The home is one of several owned by the couple.

finally speaks her mind in a new issue of Oprah’s ‘O’ magazine that will be hitting the newsstands early August. Whitney speaks on her strange relationship with Bobby Brown and her archrivals and . Whitney states, “Mariah is an ok artist, but she lacks originality and she tries too hard and Celine is just Celine, very instrumental and boring; she’s just adding light to her music, both are excellent at their craft but there can only be one Whitney.” When asked how she feels about her music not selling very well she added, “That part of this business really doesn’t concern me. Right now I’m at 5 million world wide. Some artist don’t see that in a 10 year career span. I’m just lucky to have sold as much as I’ve sold in the past, so people shouldn’t say I’m not selling, at least not while this whole music swapping over the internet is happening.”
