Tatu Prove To Be A Nightmare Interview… Again
Nick Duerden of Blender magazine tried to interview Lena Katina and Julia Volkova of t.A.T.u. at a swank restaurant in New York recently, but it didn’t turn out well with the temperamental Russian duo. “Such questions,” Lena Katina said at one point. “All the time we get the same questions. It’s boring. It doesn’t matter, you know, whether me and Julia are lovers or friends. We don’t care if people believe that we are a couple. This is our private life, and we should be able to do what we want. And if you don’t like it? Goodbye to you.”
Tatu To Become Subject Of Biopic
WENN reports Lena Katina and Julia Volkova of t.A.T.u. are in talks to have their rags-to-riches story recreated on the big screen. “I am very, very happy,” Lena said. “This is crazy you know, really crazy. It is a dream come true for there to be a film all about us. Yulia is crazy also.” Yulia and Lena are unlikely to star as themselves, although they would likely have cameo roles. The film is set to be released in September in Russia.
Tatu Labeled ‘Sad And Sick’ By Advice Columnist
April 17, 2003 – Rhona Raskin of the Chicago Sun-Times was asked by a reader if her criticism of Jay Leno for allowing t.A.T.u. on the Tonight Show recently was a shot at lesbians. “I’m disturbed that an act that appeals specifically to pedophiles has the thumbs-up from people I consider intelligent, such as Jay Leno,” she said. “My comment was in no way about gay folks–these two are not. Is this your idea of entertainment? It’s sad and sick, but we as a society worship money and fame at any cost. I hope Jay’s wife, Mavis, had a go at him after the show.”
