Us Weekly spoke with a source about Kevin Federline’s relationship with wife Britney Spears’ family, which was put to the test when the couple hosted Christmas festivities at their Malibu home. “It is awkward,” the insider revealed. “He feels he keeps having to defend himself, and [Spears] keeps having to defend him.” More tension resulted when Britney and Kevin declined to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Kentwood with the family, staying home instead. “There was a fight,” another source told the mag. “It was between Britney and certain other family members in Kentwood, mad that Britney didn’t go home. Some people say she should dump him.”
