That Old Justin Timberlake Record Could Help Save A Life

Scientists at Seattle’s Virginia Mason Medical Center turned to the discount bin at the record store down the street to apply a protein “elastin” to vinyl records which forms skin-like material used to replace bad blood vessels. “Our question was ‘What can we use as a grooved surface, without spending a lot of money?’” researcher Robert Vernon told KOMO news. Their vinyl of choice? Justin Timberlake’s solo debut ‘Justified’. “He just happened to be inexpensive,” Vernon said with a smile. Read more, or listen to the report here.
