The Donnas say prospects of a commercial breakthrough has its drawbacks. One of which is comparisons to the current crop of young female stars. ”We’re not anything like Pink or Avril Lavigne,” Donna F tells the Boston Globe. ”Avril is just some girl someone wrote a bunch of songs for who’s trying to play a guitar. She doesn’t have anything to do with us. Yeah, we’re girls. We wore matching shirts. People thought we were a novelty. But I think that’s changing a little now. Not every story is about lip gloss.”
