As we all know, the Grammys are the biggest night in music. I have to admit, this year kind of upset me for mainly this reason: There were too many concerts and less awards being given live! Don’t get me wrong here; I thought the performances were the best I have seen this year! But didn’t anybody besides me think that there were a bit too many performances and less awards being given? Half of the awards given were announced on the bottom of the screen. I didn’t know who won what until the next day. I find that to be a bit ridiculous. There should be a balance of performances and awards given, don’t you think? But anyways, I just want to say one more thing about the Grammys, you don’t have to agree or disagree with me now. I am starting to feel that each year the Grammys are disappointing. It seems to be more about popularity and record sales and hype rather than awarding those who are unique, gifted, and talented. Don’t get me wrong again, many people did deserve their Grammy, but I think some of the more creative people are always left in the dark, while people like Usher and Kayne West are way over hyped and overrated (did either of them win a Grammy?). The Grammys to me nowadays don’t seem to be any different than the MTV awards.
