Thea Gilmore caught up with The Sun’s Something For The Week in a Q&A, where the singer was asked why she connects with Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young. “They all make amazing use of lyrics which I really respond to,” the 26-year-old said. “But these guys all began at a time in music where it was OK to make albums in quick succession, and more importantly, it was OK to develop and change. I mean no two Neil Young albums really sound the same. That doesn’t happen these days. The business has become so ‘boom or bust’ that if you don’t make an album that sounds almost identical to your million-selling debut, you’re a has-been.”
