Leah McLaren of the Globe and Mail shared her thoughts on Jessica Simpson, comparing the ‘Dukes Of Hazzard’ star to America’s president. “Think of her as the female George W. Bush. Like her president, she is a cipher — a blank slate who has been packaged into an icon,” McLaren writes. “This busty personification of Bush-era values has managed to elbow her way into the coveted wartime role of America’s Sweetheart — the one that Britney vacated the night she got hammered and hitched in Vegas. Unlike Spears, Simpson seems to have little angst or frustration about her role as the Good Girl.”

A Hot Friday In LA
July 30, 2005 – Jay Leno joked during his Tonight Show monologue on Friday night, “Another hot day, what was it, 98 degrees or something today. It was so hot, Jessica Simpson changed into an even skimpier pair of shorts. That’s how hot it was. Man I was sweating like Michael Jackson watching an episode of ‘Brat Camp’. That’s how hot it was.”
