Timberlake Brings ‘FutureSex / LoveSounds’ To Number One

This week on Billboard, Justin Timberlake’s new album ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds’ has successfully debuted in first place with an outstanding 684,000 in just one week outselling Tool’s ‘10000 Days’ album for the highest debut of 2006. In other pop news, John Mayer’s ‘Continuum’ opened in second place with solid results of 300,000 – a slight decline from his last opening. Dropping to third was Beyonce’s ‘B’Day’ selling 162, 000 – a 70% decline. Moving out of the top ten was Christina Aguilera’s gold comeback album ‘Back to Basics’ and Jessica Simpson’s underperforming ‘A Public Affair’. Aguilera hitting 14th place with roughly 50,000 and Jessica stumbling into 31st with an underaverage third week sale of 26,000 copies.
