According to a report on today’s Wall Street Journal website, Tommy Mottola is “expected” to resign as Chairman/CEO of Sony Music Entertainment to start his own label. Mottola’s current contract with Sony was set to expire in 2004. He has been at the label for more than a decade. Last year, along with the rest of the music industry, Sony lost big bucks — with operating losses of more than $140 million. Read more.
