Cove magazine has announced their list of the top 100 vocalists based on the artist’s vocal abilities, vocal ranges and harmony, with the combination of the artist’s acapella and live performances. Christina Aguilera received a perfect score of 50 to top the list, beating out Mariah Carey’s 49.7 and Michael Jackson’s 49.5. Others making the list include Avril Lavigne at #9, Enrique Iglesias at #13, ‘American Idol’ runner-up Clay Aiken at #15, Kelly Clarkson at #21, the Backstreet Boys at #22, and *NSYNC at #39 and Britney Spears at #72.

I definitely agree with Christina being #1 she definitely has one of the best voices out there she really deserves it after all the bashing she gets from all the haters out there. Though I can’t believe Britney was even on the list while she is a very good dancer and performer she had absolutely no vocal range. Justin Timberlake should have been way higher than that I can’t believe Britney beat him. Oh and Avril Lavigne in the top 10 no way!! She has a pretty good voice but definitely does not deserve to be in the top 10 no way!!!
I must say I am satisfied with this list but they should be a few changes. First off, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and “no offense”Madonna should not be in the the artist vocal abilities. Secondly, I also think that Ricky Martin should be at #72, in place of Britney Spears, why I say this is because he can sing live, and has the vocal ability but not very well as Micheal Jackson, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey or Enrique Iglesias for that matter. And Lastly, Mariah Carey should be #1 and then Christina Aguilera. I understand that they both have beautiful voices but Mariah Carey has the chops for crying out loud.
how the hell did they not put prince on the list…his vocal range is ridiculous I do not think any male could match him and auguliera over Whitney and Mariah….wow that’s new consider since she’s like their love child…i wish people would get a grip

any list of Top Vocalists that puts Alicia OffKeys at #8 and Avril Lavigne at #9 over Kelly Clarkson at #21 is a flawed piece of crap list.
This list is sh**. Enrique Iglesias can’t sing for one yet he is higher than Shania Twain or Shakira who can reach many notes with a strong distinct vibrato and voice. Also Shakira is always said to have a beautiful voice by critics but this list is gonna say otherwise. What the hell? Also Jennifer Lopez is not a better singer than Madonna. She can’t sing at all! This list sucks!

Whitney Houston is one of the greatest singers of all time. Now im not saying you other artist aren’t awesome but for an artist to sing gospel and soul and still allow your bones to shiver…….. you must give honor where its due. Mariah Carey is out of question awesome but you can’t forget about where this individuals got their drive and inspiration from singer from the 70′s and 80′s Aretha Franklin , Luther Vandross , Patti Labelle , Betty Wright, Steve Wonder and more….. think about it!!!!!!!!!
